“What an awesome day ...”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

Chris Litherland is one of those people who loves his job, and that passion comes through his extensive knowledge of the history of Southampton, Stonehenge and Old Sarum. His anecdotal stories made the traveling between these sites interesting and funny. I can't say enough about how enjoyable Chris made our day. He picked us up at the railway station, drove us through the town, showed us the various points of interest and how to get there and then dropped us at our hotel when we were done. Kudos, Chris.

“Couldn't Have Been Better!”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

An informative and wonderful tour guide, we felt very comfortable with Chris-like an old friend.
He picked us up in Heathrow and drove us to Salisbury. The next day we toured Stonehenge and the Stonehenge trail. the next day we took the train to Bath with Chris's guidance. The next day Chris picked us up In salisbury and took us to the cruise ship in Southhampton(via a beautiful drive through the "new forest". Two weeks later (back from Iceland and Norway) Chris picked us up at the ship and took us to Heathrow for the flight home. Always on time, extremely enjoyable don't miss his tour if you are going to Southhampton.

It was a pleasure showing you around, and I'm glad that you enjoyed your time here and on board. It was a pleasure sharing your company. Continue to trip the "light fantastic" in your finery and be wary of anyone who doesn't call her Kate!

“Great private tour with excellent guide”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

Chris picked us up at our hotel in Southampton promptly at 8 AM as arranged. We spent a busy and wonderful day touring small country lanes in our desire to see not only Stonehenge, but many of the associated area attractions, small and large, that are associated with it. We visited Amesbury to see the place where early visitors to Stonehenge left the River Avon to trek to the place, then Avebury, Woodhenge, Durrington Walls, and finally Stonehenge in the mid-afternoon when many of the tourist buses had come and gone. It was more than we expected, especially because we had gone to places we could touch the stones, but at the site, it is well roped off which allowed us to see it in all its glory. It is not to be missed. Chris' narrative and informative guidance prepared us for the sight. We were not disappointed. A final visit to Old Sarum ended the tour. We were returned to our hotel about 5:30 in the afternoon, having had a wonderful day with a great guide. We highly recommend him.

“Great Tour”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

We booked this tour with Chris to fill an "in transit" day between our British Isles and Norway cruises. Chris met us early at the cruise terminal and we had a wonderful day exploring the English countryside. Chris provided a very knowledgeable and informative narrative while visiting Stonehenge, Old Sarum, and Salisbury as well as some insights to local customs and history. We especially liked the flexible itinerary and versatility provided by his tour.
Highly Recommended!

So glad that you enjoyed the "Stonehenge Trail". It was conceived exactly for guests such as yourselves, with limited time available.Flexibility is one big benefit from taking a "private" tour. If you pass this way again, look me up

“Our visit to Stonehenge, Bath and Salisbury with Chris”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

Our recent family visit to the UK began in Salisbury with a tour by Chris of Stonehenge, Old Sarum, the English countryside, and Bath. Chris was a wonderful tour guide making our visit very informative but relaxed and enjoyable at the same time. There were 6 of us, spanning a wide age range, but Chris was able to address our different needs easily. He adjusted the tour to suit our requests and adapted calmly to one of our mishaps (a misplaced cellphone which diverted us from the tour for a bit). We all felt very comfortable conversing with Chris and secure in the knowledge that he was very capable. Chris was prompt, courteous, and an excellent and careful driver (important for us nervous Americans driving on English country roads!).

Given the attentiveness, comfort, flexibility, and ease of the tour, the cost was very reasonable. I would highly encourage anyone considering a private tour to contact Chris. He will make the experience of that beautiful part of England very memorable!

What a family occasion it turned out to be. I hope that you made Evensong, it would have finished the day perfectly for you. Thank you for your kind words and maybe we'll meet again?
