Trading as 'Venue on the Hilltop' it took some time to track down for review. Previous incarnations as Hilltop Cafe & Hilltop Grill, the new name doesn't mean it's a change for the better. 'Sunshine' breakfast being a positive throwback, lack of Sunday lunches a negative. Having previously visited and reviewed, like others, wanted to see what improvements had been made. The inside is better now partitions have been taken away to open up the dining area.
Free wifi available with a reasonable speed which is expected these days.
Decent strength coffee and didn't have to ask for extra shot which was good - and not always been that way at the Hilltop sorry, Venue... It seemed very quiet for a Sunday lunchtime compared to previous popularity. The world has moved on compared to the Venue OTH and you can get same breakfast for half the money elsewhere. OK if passing but not worth a special trip.

Been going to this diner / cafe for year and is now under new ownership.

I walked in and no one came to seat me like used to so I seated myself then waited 10 min for a menu while the staff just sat at a table talking there was only 4 other tables In the diner, and now you have to go to the till and order your food and pay there and then to a very miserable waitress that gave me the impression that I was beneath her and not worth her attention

I then waited 35 minutes for a full English which half of it was cold the eggs where snotty so where undercooked and only ate half the sausage as don't think there was any meat in it

Overall my visit was a big disappointment not what I am used to at this diner shame that it has drastically changed, I will not be visiting this place again

Thank peter s
