“Marvellous pub, welcoming staff, good beer and tasty food.”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Lynne the landlady and her staff are always friendly and helpful, inspiring loyalty from regulars and visitors alike. I live elsewhere, so only visit occasionally but the Royal George is my refuge of choice in Salisbury.

“Just like a traditional country pub”
Reviewed April 17, 2013 via mobile

There is nowhere nicer than the Royal George for a friendly welcome, quality beer and delicious pub meals. A pretty beer garden at the back was a nice surprise too! If you're visiting Salisbury, you should make the effort to visit this pub. With traditional oak beams and more than 500 brasses on display, it really is an English pub at its best. Eat in the bar or opt for the cosy restaurant - either way you're in for a plentiful meal, served hot and always with a smile.

“Warm and Welcoming”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

Background - The Royal George is a local community pub. Dating back to the 1700's, it is named after the flagship of Admiral Kempenfelt that sank at Spithead in 1782 with the loss of about 900 lives

This was our first visit to this particular town pub which is just a couple of minutes walk from the market place.

Doombar, Ringwood best and Hop back GFB are always available, the GFB was extremely good

The pub is friendly and comfortable and the bar staff welcoming, there is a large collection of polished brass and was reasonably busy for a Saturday afternoon

Just behind the bar is a cozy dining room and there is an interesting menu of traditional food

There are darts in the main bar and a pool room at the rear and a TV for those who need it

Outside there is a large sitting area
