We hadn't booked so couldn't get a table inside but it was a lovely evening and we sat out and enjoyed the market place. We just had pizzas and pasta - the pizzas were well cooked and a good size, it was just a shame about the small portion size of the pasta dishes. Our 8 year old had a full sized portion (thank goodness!) but even he was not full up afterwards. Such a shame because of all the work and skill that had been put into the dish to create an amazing flavour and for the sake of a few extra pence they could easily have added some extra pasta. We left feeling a little disappointed because those of us who had ordered pasta didn't feel very full. I would have rated them a 5 if the portions had been larger. Service and staff were excellent.

Dropped in for lunch, which we ate outside in the sun.
Firstly, service was lovely and couldn't fault it. However, have to echo a previous review that the sardines were a dead loss and the food, though generally very good, just fell slightly below expectations, especially as it was not cheap (a la carte menu)
Might be a bit harsh.....so happy to say it's worth trying...particularly for the friendly service.

A knowledgable maitre d' made great recommendations and we had a nice meal at this small but comfortable restaurant. Great value and we would definitely go back.

What a fabulous night we had last week - we dropped in for an impromputu dinner to celebrate work/job changes and we slightly took over the down stairs! We had a truely fabulous meal and want to extend our thanks once more to the lovely staff!! You were all amazing!
Our food was superb and the wine kept on flowing. We really hope we didn't disturb any of your other guests!

Thank you again for providing top notch italian cuisine with excellent customer service and those extra touchs that make the dinning experience utterly unforgetable!

We read raving reviews about this restaurant and had high (possibly too high) expectations and ended up rather disappointed about the quality and autheticity of food. My husband was utterly disappointed about his sardines: he was expecting fresh grilled sardines but given what looked like tinned sardines in tomato sauce. The waitress told him this was to cater for the English taste - fair enough but nevertheless, a disappointment. My scallops were the best part of our meal and I would have them again. The cheapest white wine was also lovely and good value for money. The waitress let me try some as wasn't too sure whether to order it or not. Pizzas were OK but nothing special. Mine was supposed to be local wild mushrooms but turned out to have plenty of enoki mushrooms which are typically used in Japanese cuisine so don't tell me these actually grow in Wiltshire! The special Italian sausage in my husband's pizza was salami and that's it. Even otherwise we found pizzas rather bland. I had banoffee pie as pudding and again, found it rather average (but could not tell that to our lovely waitress who so much wanted us to like the food). The service was very personal and good so if ever went back to this restaurant, it would definitely be for that.
