A lovely old pub with impressive garden area and large covered areas ideal for smokers. Excellent meal and good value for money. Thanks Maggie for a great evening

“Bank Holiday lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2014

Wonderful hidden pub, local - just across the fields from Salisbury, first time we've eaten here and we weren't disappointed. Amazing food, beautifully cooked and presented, should have been on Master Chef! Lovely garden, we sat out under on the covered patio, very comfortable on quality furniture. Real ales in excellent condition, Titanic England Glory and Uphams Tipster very good on taste and clarity. Black Rat cider was excellent too. We will be back to both eat and drink. Well worth the walk!

“A proper pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2014 via mobile

We stayed in Salisbury for two nights and wanted to go to a real pub with character but not a pub in a chain.Top of our list when searching on line was to find somewhere to eat with freshly cooked food. The Victoria and Albert ticked all the boxes for us.We were given a warm welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the steak was delicious and when we asked for a side of vegetables instead of chips it was no problem.A rare find in these days of pubs selling pre packed processed food where the staff have no idea as to the ingredients contained when asked. The Victoria and Albert ticked all the boxes for us.

“Late Luncheon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2014

Btrilliant Pub and Restaurant with great character and great food. Charismatic friendly owner. Arrived today. late for luncheon (after 14.00 hrs) No Probs.! How refreshing - Bottle of fresh Portugese white and some fish. Live locally so asked the owner if I could leave my car - again No probs!
Quite charming Pub with low beams, open fire and good wine list.

Highly recommended!

“Warm and cozy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

This is a wonderful place. I first visited whilst on holiday on a cold, damp October (2013) Monday evening and was delighted to be welcomed by a warm fire, a fine meal (the soups are excellent), a well-kept beer, and a charming landlady. When I visited again the next Friday, said charming landlady remembered me and asked about my trip to Cornwall which we had discussed during my previous visit. This is one the coziest and most welcoming pubs I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. I hope to go back, sooner rather than later.
