“An excellent stop on our way to Southampton Docks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

We received a warm welcome at Websters B & B, John and veronica are excellent hosts very willing to help you make the most of your stay. The room was very comfortable and spotless, with many thoughtful touches. Breakfast was delicious, from an excellent choice of menu - fresh and cooked to order, including vegetarian options. A perfect location - quiet area but a close walk to the city centre and for us on our way to Southampton a handy place to stop with a very easy drive to the docks.

This was our first B&B in England while on our honeymoon. This place is close to downtown Salisbury and was only a 5-10 minute walk from the train station. We walked everywhere from this place. It has large rooms with private baths. Very clean and tidy. Tea pots and fresh biscuits daily.
John and Veronica are great hosts, they were very helpful with directions and ideas of places to go and things to do. They made the best English breakfast and also had a great variety of options if you preferred something else.
I felt very much at home here. They also have nice selection of movies for watching and extra umbrellas in case of rain.
Thank you John and Veronica for a great welcome to Salisbury!

John and Veronica are great hosts. Friendly and helpful. They served breakfast each morning from 7:45 to 8:45, including a Full English Breakfast if you order the night before. The location seemed safe, quiet, and private, yet an easy walk to downtown and train stations. We slept well in the clean bed, large room, with instant coffee, tea, hairdryer, TV, shampoos, etc. There are carpeted steps up to the rooms.

Room Tip: We stayed in "Breamor" ; a large room with a king size bed made of two twins placed side b...

My partner and I stayed at Websters Guest House on a recent visit to Salisbury and the surrounding area. The guest house is located in a quiet part of Salisbury, and is only a short walk to the station and city centre.
The rooms are kept spotlessly clean and the breakfast menu is varied and well prepared.
We consider ourselves lucky to have found this guest house. It has a welcoming atmosphere; the owners, John and Veronica, treated us like family. They were very helpful, even recommending the best restaurants in Salisbury. In fact John kindly rang one to make a booking for us on a Saturday evening.
We would highly recommend anyone to stay at Websters and to meet such a lovely couple as John and Veronica.
Thank you to you both for your fantastic hospitality.

We looked online for accommodation in Salisbury and "Websters Bed and Breakfast" sounded promising as it is very close to the train station and just a few minutes walk from town. We certainly hit the jackpot! It was everything we were hoping for and more! The room was very comfortable with lots of little extras. The breakfast was great and John was really welcoming and helpful. Am sorry we only had one night there! Would be very happy to stay there again.

Room Tip: We had a twin room downstairs and it was great.

Sadly we can't agree with many of the comments here. We recently stayed for three nights in the Wardour room which was small, but to make it worse the bed was small leaving us frightened to move during the night which in turn gave as 3 bad nights sleep. The en-suite was nice but would have benefitted from a shaver point. There was tea and coffee provided, and we note someone said biscuits, which is one packet a day between 2 people! We would have liked more hangers in our room as 6 wasn't enough for 2 people for three nights.
We called previously to say what time we expected to arrive and when we called to say we were having lunch we were told we had called to say we would be arriving earlier, and John had decided to go out. We arrived at Websters to find no-one at home, with John arrived 10 mins later with no appology.
Breakfast was average, with cereal, tinned fruit and frozen pancakes on offer. As someone else had noted, it could have been bigger for £80 a night.(£85 a night if you have less nights!) We were woken on our first morning to dustmen clanking up the street and hooting at around 7.30 am and on our last night by someone running their car engine under our window at 6.30am! On the front door there is a sign saying 'welcome to excellence', as we are well travelled we will have to disagree! It is in a run down part of Salisbury and we were not impressed when we got off the train to pass not one but 2 adult shops, not what we expected, though the Close and the Cathedral are beautiful and worth a visit.
We found Veronica very friendly and would suggest she is more front of house than John.

Room Tip: Don't choose the Wardour room, we don't know if there are bigger beds in other rooms!

My boyfriend and I decided to go away for a long weekend and one of the things we decided to do was to go to Longleat. As neither of us had ever been to Salisbury before, we thought it would be nice to visit a new place. We didn't meet the owners that night, as we arrived too late. They left us a key, which was really handy. The room itself was really nicely decorated and comfortable. It is much bigger than it appears from the outside. The en suite was nice and a good choice of toiletries were provided. My only gripe would be that to access the bathroom, you have to go down a steep step. However, the bed was very comfortable and we slept very well.
A breakfast menu was left in our room and all we had to do was write a note saying what we wanted and leave it outside our room. Easy! Breakfast was nice, but perhaps a little bit on the small side. Met the owners at breakfast - lovely couple and very attentive. Well worth a visit due to the closeness to the centre of town and to main roads out of town, but also because it's a very nicely decked out B&B and run by a lovely couple.
