“Really good food and very pretty location.”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

We had a lovely meal here in our home this weekend. We had visited once before and were pleased to find that it was still a lovely experience and the decor had even improved since our last visit. The food here is well cooked and much better than your average pub grub. The views over the lake and elevated seating area are delightful and there is a warm welcome from the staff who were both helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend a visit. Warning though...new gravel in the drive nearly grounded us, careful how you park! :-)

“Good old fashioned pub food”
Reviewed June 21, 2014

Not glamourise but really good value, good food and welcoming atmosphere. Great for children and dogs, and fabulous view makes this a really good place to go for a drink or a meal.

“Almost all the ingredients”
Reviewed June 6, 2014 via mobile

The pub has a lovely view, friendly staff, a reasonably varied selection of dishes and was close to our B&B. I was disappointed that they did not have a dark beer on tap, and my calf's liver was just a little over cooked, but otherwise we had a very enjoyable meal.

“A bit disappointing”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

Firstly I must say the staff were fabulous, very friendly. The food on the other hand I felt let it down a bit. The menu was quite exciting and I settled on the whitebait and fish cakes for main, these are so deep fried that it was ruined. My husband had a risotto which lacked flavour. This said some others staying at the B&B said they had a fabulous meal so perhaps it was what we chose was bad?? Who knows. The outdoors dining area looks as though it would be great in the summer.
I agree with what someone else said not much better than a harvester but more expensive.

“Not been for a long time but very good!”
Reviewed April 19, 2014 via mobile

It has been a number of years since we have been to the rainbow but will not be leaving so long again.

We had a roast dinner which was very good and our puddings were excellent, especially the bread and butter pudding.

On top of this the staff were friendly and accomodating especially to my 2.5 year old, which very unusual in most places.
