We hopped on the double-decker bus right outside the train station on arrival, bags and all. Easy way to get to Stonehenge and back, plus some nice views of the countryside with commentary to go along with it. You get to bypass the waiting line for tickets at Stonehenge since you pay for the ticket with the tour. And Stonehenge itself was well worth it. One of those things that pictures don't do justice to.

This company advertisers itself as "hop-on-hop-off", but they don't mean it. If you don't get off at Stonehenge after boarding at the bus or train stop, be prepared to be screamed at by a rude, hostile driver. They are not a "tour company" that wants you to enjoy a nice holiday. They just operate a bus that makes a big circle around the area.

Any company that would hire such an abusive driver as Richard clearly has no concept of service or how to respect customers.

Pick any other company but The Stonehenge Tour. It is bound to be a true tour with a positive experience.

The "hop on/off" tour was convenient as I didn't have to work out transportation logistics, but spared me the schedule limitations of a guided coach tour. I boarded at the Salisbury rail station & disembarked at Salisbury's market square at the end of the day. The tour gives you "VIP" entrance at Stonehenge w/audio tour, no need to wait in line. Bus driver & staff were friendly. One note: When boarding/off-loading at Old Sarum, you have to cross a fairly busy road to get to Old Sarum. Be safe!

This is an easy way to get to & from Stonehenge as they have lots of stops/pick ups around Salisbury. We were in a hurry so it worked REALLY well for us. However, its very hard to hear the commentary and our driver was a bit rude. When I got on to purchase the tickets from him (which are quite pricey at 20 pounds each) he made a point to say that I was wasting his time and that I should have purchased them inside the bus station. Only thing is there were no signs saying you could purchase them in the bus stations and nothing on their website said this either. All the other passengers were also purchasing tickets from him... he was rude to all of them. This being said, Stonehenge is one of those great tourist moments so it was worth it.
