The architechture in Salisbury is so very different from my home in tropical Australia.
It was so interesting to see the old buildings.

This was an enchanting walk looking at very old buildings and grand houses. The grounds are superb. This is a must visit place.

The largest Cathedral Close with acres of greenery, hidden lanes and quirky, historic architecture. A great destination for visitors, but a bit of goldfish bowl for long suffering residents. Numerous cafes and the cheapest parking in town.

This is a lovely open space around the cathedral, itself surrounded by grand houses and other buildings. On a sunny day, it's a nice place to relax and watch the crowds go by.

This is (as claimed) the biggest Cathedral Close in the country, still with walls and gates around it. There are plenty of interesting houses around the close and every other one seems to be a museum or suchlike [they've all got their own listings on Trip Advisor]. But just walking around and getting the scale of the place, and the peace and quiet once you get a little away from the Cathedral tourists, is worth five stars on it's own.
P.S If you drive here, park elsewhere and walk in.
