We arrived in Salisbury in the rain and our Hosts at the Edwardian Lodge recommended this as a good place to eat. Upon arriving the restaurant was busy but we were seated immediately. The service was excellent the food was excellent and the food portions a good size for any appetite. The evening was a pleasant experience after wet journey. Would recommend if in the area.

Good pub food, good service and reasonable prices for food and drinks. Nice location, lovely outside sitting area by the river for the sunny days. As I was expecting the average pub fare, it has made an impression.

Wow, £5.40 for a pint and a half of coke. No thank you. Won't be back.

We were going to eat but decided to leave after being put off by extortionate drink prices

I am a member of a local social club, for the 50 somethings, and we have several outings each year which usually including food. This year we went to the Boat House in Salisbury for our annual BBQ.
Twentyseven of our members arrived around the agreed time of 6:30pm to 7pm and we were greeted by friendly and smiling staff. The BBQ coals were already hot and ready for cooking. Our food (agreed when we arranged the BBQ) consisted of sausages, hamburgers and chicken breasts together with more than enough bread rolls (hamburger style "buns") and fresh, crisp salads (some with feta cheese cubes and olive oil dressing), bowls of chips (refilled twice) and sauces and condiments. The cook, who kept up a friendly and amusing repartee with the guests, worked hard to make sure everyone had plenty of food. The burgers and sausages had been sourced locally and were not of the "greasy Joe" sort at all. The burgers were moist, thick and full of flavour and the sausages were similarly delicious. The chicken breast pieces were prepared "butterfly" style with a tasty marinade. At £8 a head it was exceptionally good value.

All in all it was one of the best BBQs our club has enjoyed in a few years and no one had any complaints (a first for us lot!). The warm sunny evening maybe had something to do with the success of the event but there was no faulting the food or the service. I would certainly recommend this venue to anyone running events for groups/clubs. In fact our club is returning in October this year for our annual Quiz Night.
