Saturday evening during the Salisbury festival. One person working behind the bar taking food and drink orders, two huge queues of people and no idea who was next in line and little or no attempt to find out. With "service" and staffing levels like this it doesn't deserve to survive. We left after waiting in vain for 15 minutes so there went a table of 4 for dinner and drinks. Avoid at all costs if you value service.

Stopped for lunch with our dog (in the large garden overlooking the millstream). We both chose the deli deal (sandwich + side + drink) which was served quickly. Proved to be tasty, filling and good value. Menu is extensive and there is something to please all palates. Inside is a long well stocked bar with a good range of beers and lagers. Plenty of well spaced tables in a carefully converted chapel gives an amazing feel of spaciousness with cosy areas as well. A nice package well worth another visit.

My wife and I ate here early Saturday evening.

Good points: this is a historic, sensitively restored building in a lovely setting by a gushing millstream, central to Salisbury's shops and close to the railway station. The background music in my opinion was excellent: Joss Stone, Bruce Springsteen, Amy Winehouse etc, and not over-loud. It all contributed to an excellent ambience, only slightly spoiled by two noisy kids who were at least out of the way upstairs.

Bad points - quite a few, I'm afraid.

The food was disappointing: typical microwaved basic pub fare, produced in under 10 minutes. Also one of the desserts was unavailable, which we were only told some while after ordering it. Why do so many pubs not bother to let their serving staff know what is unavailable from the menu?

It was nice to be asked if we wanted to order desserts at the table, which we did with more drinks. It was less impressive to first be given someone else's (totally different) bill and then, when we finally had the right bill and asked to pay it by card, to be told we'd have to go to the bar (and queue) to do that! We might as well have gone there to order the desserts in the first place.

Delays in paying the bill meant we nearly missed our train back. All totally unnecessary. A pity, because this could have been a good pub.

Pub grub which is really nice especially for the price. I had a burger topped with bbq slow cooked beef...original and very good...all the people on my table were jealous of it. Service was good didn't wait too long. A nice selection of food and quick and easy for ordering as you pay at the bar. The queue for drinks was a little busy as there was one girl on her own but all staff were friendly. Really nice building, looks special and the feel of it makes it more than just a pub. Would go again.

A sort of take on Wetherspoons, this pub gave good, friendly service on the day. Food was good value, especially the lunch package, sandwich, chips and a drink ( including some pints but not all ).Portion was generous but that seemed to depend on which sandwich you chose
Loads of space between table and a really lofty ceiling make this unusual building interesting and a bit cold. There are a lot of stairs up to the loos, take Oxygen for that.
Our visit was lunch time; no idea what it is like on a Saturday night !!!!
