“MY TASTEBUDS HAVE BEEN EXCITED”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Called in here for the first time before a theatre evening in Salisbury and was absolutely delighted.
Shown to a typical brasserie table with just enough room for all the necessary bits and pieces. Our waiter Josh was full of life and a really happy chap since he knew what we were in for. Ordered red wine and our food and said we were short of time and going to the theatre.
We ordered Tuna Carpaccio with sauce vierge followed by Roast Cod. Allergies were catered for and the starters arrived very quickly. The Tuna Carpaccio had been seared by looking at the griddle before being finely sliced to cover the plate. The Sauce Vierge was fantastic and complimented the Tuna as if they were married - a really great dish!.
The Roast Cod was crispy topped and sitting on a bed of small vegetables in a magnificent creamy wine sauce. The fish was snow white and beautifully cooked. This is probably the best fish dish I have ever eaten. The Chocolate Mousse was so light it was like heaven and my Tarte Fine aux Pommes and Icecream - well the pastry had been created by angels who were pretty good at making icecream too. What a great meal and we were billed and able to leave 15 minutes before the show. Definitely going here again.

“Consistently excellent evening!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

We ate here several times between August and December 2012, having moved to the city recently. We have taken several groups of friends and family here both for a lazy afternoon lunch with an excellent fixed price menu (the minute steak never fails to deliver) and a lovely selection of traditional French fare from the a la carte menu in the evenings. We have always received excellent service, which is warm and friendly yet polite and respectful. The decor is subtly glamorous, with a blend of gold and chocolate, soft lighting and always a good atmosphere. A day time experience is a delight either inside (lovely character windows at the rear) or outside for an cheeky glass of wine alfresco. Please being back the ham and remoulade starter, we miss it!

“Must be one of the best places in Salisbury”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

Centrally located, in comfortable and relaxing surroundings, absolutely delightful service, very good food and reasonable prices this place is definitely to be recommended. It's a quintessential French brasserie transplanted into the heart of this pretty city and I could happily go back there and eat every day. All the dishes that were served at our table were well received and plates almost licked clean, so full marks for Cote!
