Turned up here late one night whilst on a business trip. The place was nigh on empty and first impressions were not encouraging, as the staff did not exactly welcome us with open arms.

But the chap who took our order was polite, cheerful and knowledgable (as was the lady who was in charge for the evening), and the steaks were first class - cooked just right.

The "shot glass" puddings were a fun idea and extremely tasty - well worth a try.

We went for lunch here in January 2013 but were disappointed. We both had the steak but the meat was rather fatty and had been cooked in too much butter and garlic. The meat itself seemed surprisingly tasteless (minimal if any seasoning) and the only taste it had was butter which gave it a greasy texture as well. The only other couple in the restaurant with us (on a rainy January mid-week lunchtime) also complained their food tasted like it had been done in the microwave!

First visit caused us to rave about this place. Second visit put us of forever. Non-alcoholic cocktail wasn't - as was obvious from first mouthful. Staff astounded rather than apologetic. Steaks so disappointing - and lacking in the finesse of first visit. Sweats real mistake. If it was cheaper it would be Ok but at these prices I expect first class food and service with a smile - a willingness to go the extra mile. Instead a trip to the kitchen seemed too much trouble. The name kinda said it all.

I had dinner here last night and was so impressed that I can't wait to come again! The food was fantastic, and the lady who looked after us (I think the manageress) obviously knew what she was talking about as she had no problems answering our questions and spent time explaining the different types of steak on the menu. The service was great, and every member of staff seemed to be having such a good time! It's not often that you go to a restaurant and are greeted with a smile, let alone watch a team of people clearly enjoy their job! All in all, great food, great cocktails, great service, can't wait to return!

This is the place to be it was a wonderful evening enjoyed by all. If you are in or near Salisbury do not leave without a meal at this superb restaurant. Charlie the general manager is such a sweetie, she certainly knows her stuff.

A very satisfied Mr P
