My wife and I went to the Balti House with an optimistic outlook and were very pleasantly surprised at the standard of the food in the buffet. The Beef Vindaloo and Lamb Madras were very tasty and although I prefer my Indian food hotter they would have been just right for anyone who likes Indian but does'nt want their socks blown off, other dishes that were very good were the Chicken Korai and my wife said the chicken Korma was also excellent (she does'nt normally eat Kormas prefering spicier food but tried it out of curiosity). The food was fresh and was re stocked regularly. It was nice that you could view the kitchen which looked very clean and organised.
I have to agree with the reviewer who wrote that the Balti House is not for a curry connoisseur, only in so much as being a buffet the choice is more limited than a standard restaurant, however the take away menu looks excellent and if the food is as good as the buffet then it should rank as one of the best Indian takeaways in Salisbury.
At £9.50 for as much as you can eat it was very good value, the staff were extremely friendly and curteous all in all a very pleasant experience which I would repeat - I am now looking forward to trying some things from the takeaway menu.
