We had to rebook with the Cloisters after the previous venue tried to insist on giving us the 'party menu' The visit prior to the event was brilliant and informative. The arrangements to cater for twenty easy to sort out. The service on the night was superb, the staff friendly not too intrusive. The function room delightful. Twenty people all served with the dish of their choice from a extensive menu (pre ordered). The overall event w as a delightful event, even handled down to separate bills as requested. The food was well presented and enough on the plate without being overwhelming and still hot. Full marks to David and his team, not a single complaint from any of the people attending.

This is such an unassuming Pub Restaurant, but it has two important things great food and great service as well as a really pleasant ambiance and reasonable prices. The Carvary on a Sunday is to be thoroughly recommended and it was good to see the Chef change serving implements for the vegetarians so their look was not tainted - without being asked. Definitely a 10/10

My wife and I visited the Cloisters for lunch during a short visit to Salisbury. Having been put off by another pub which seemed cold and unfriendly (but in The Good Pub Guide) we were pleased to find a warm welcome here.
Friendly staff, good choice of main meals and snacks and a warm hospitable atmosphere. Friendly owner and manager and a good selection of beers. Pleased to say there was no piped music so we were able to enjoy the food, drink and company undisturbed.
Comes very close to being Excellent.

We called in here for a last minute meal, just missing the Sunday lunchtime carvery. We were instead able to choose from the normal menu - many typical pub classics on the menu at reasonable prices.
The waitress/bar person that looked after us was smiling, friendly and very helpful - a credit to the pub.
The real ale was also very tasty.
The food was acceptable without being anything special - nothing to complain about though and the bill for the food and drinks was very reasonable.

Big party on a quiet night in Salisbury. Quite late finish at work so only ordered at 9 pm. The waiter was a bit curt but the landlord was a great bloke. Food was brill, in particular the mixed grill which, for £14 was large enough to feed 2 adults! No complaints from anyone on the food side. Real ale on tap, wingback chairs next to the fire, awesome old building with exposed beams. What more could you want?
