The Museum contains a huge amount of artifacts from the Rifles history. The items are clearly labelled a you travel through chronologically. The museum is bigger than it looks. They have a fantastic medals room, and a garden with air raid shelter. Small shop but some great items for anyone doing research, you can buy typed war diaries from the different battalions.

Favourite item was Bobby the taxidermy dog, visit and hear the incredible story behind the dog!

Interesting and thought provoking. The Regimental history was excellent - our grandfather was in the Royal Berkshires in the First World War so doubly interesting to us.

This was the venue for my sons wedding reception.
On a great July Saturday.
Museum was a bonus and could have been quite distracting, returned recently.

Excellent

OK so this isn't a normal museum review.

My son just held his wedding reception in the garden at this museum. Brilliant! The venue is stunning, the museum is fascinating and an added interest to the wedding event. The staff at the museum were excellent both on the day and in the lead up. The garden is a great place to pitch a large tent, allowing the small ones (and some larger ones) to run amok without upsetting anyone.

If you're just visiting Salisbury go for a look around this museum, if you're planning a wedding then this is a great spot for a reception.

A small museum with a great deal of interest for both big boys and girls and their children. Lots to see, very well exhibited, and I recommend this as a short visit after visiting the Cathedral next door, Don't think this is a locally based museum; it shows what our modern Army does now, and how it did it in the past. Go and see it.
