we were staying in the new forest for a weekend break and found this pub in nomansland, Salisbury. we fancied a drink but in the end had snacks and sandwiches , it gave the impression of a good traditional pub with friendly staff and customers.
the pub is situated in the new forest and on the fringe of bramshaw wood, we had our dog and she was welcome in the pub as well, but we chose to sit outside as it was a pleasant day. We arrived at 1 and there was a number of people enjoying their lunch. There was a good selection of meals and lunchtime snacks.
We went for a steak sandwich, soup and tuna sandwiches with a portion of chips.
We didn't,t have to wait long with good service and everyone enjoyed their food.
The only slight criticism was 3.20 for a coke, extortionate in my mind .

We recently moved to the area and while waiting for our belongings to arrive the Lamb became our second home. It is a real pub with actual local people in it, the beer is fine, and staff are friendly and welcoming. In summer the garden is a great place to eat, in winter supper by the fire is good. I strongly recommend the curry of the day - best curry for miles. A good place to drop in after a dog walk - dogs are welcome too.

This pub is in a lovely setting and the website and menu painted a lovely picture.

Whilst the food was of a good standard, it lacked a little something. Staff were not overly helpful and we weren't offered drinks before we had placed our food order. These had to be ordered at the bar, which we weren't made aware of.

All in all, a mediocre experience and not somewhere I will rush back to.

We 1st called in for a drink in the summer and sat in the pretty flowery garden we looked at the menu and the large plates of food going out and decided to return for a meal. We were not disappointed. Tasty hot food and plenty of it.at a reasonable price for the new forest all served with a smile. Must go back again.
