we were staying in the new forest for a weekend break and found this pub in nomansland, Salisbury. we fancied a drink but in the end had snacks and sandwiches , it gave the impression of a good traditional pub with friendly staff and customers.
the pub is situated in the new forest and on the fringe of bramshaw wood, we had our dog and she was welcome in the pub as well, but we chose to sit outside as it was a pleasant day. We arrived at 1 and there was a number of people enjoying their lunch. There was a good selection of meals and lunchtime snacks.
We went for a steak sandwich, soup and tuna sandwiches with a portion of chips.
We didn't,t have to wait long with good service and everyone enjoyed their food.
The only slight criticism was 3.20 for a coke, extortionate in my mind .
