“Great ambience, good food and excellent service”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

I met a colleague here and loved the whole package: surrounded by beautiful individual items, airy environment and efficient and friendly staff (I was there really early but was not hassled to make an order and enjoyed my coffee uninterrupted).

The menu offered a wide choice ranging from simple soups to more interesting main courses and our salads and sandwiches were way above the norm - delicious, & filling! We will be back.

Only downside? No wifi - would have helped my quiet time.

“Lovely For A Lunchtime Snack”
Reviewed May 9, 2014

We'd book for a matinee at the Playhouse and had been recommended this café, which is within a craft centre just a few minutes' walk away. I ordered a sandwich with bacon, cheese and caramelised onion, my husband one with tomato, carrot and avocado, plus a mango smoothie and a coffee. All arrived promptly and were absolutely delicious, and that coupled with excellent service means we will definitely return.

“What a shame after previous excellent food and service!”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

We went with another couple to Fisherton Mill to experience a meal with a play (She Stoops to Conquer). The play was superb the acting first class....but the food was cold and there was little of it! Service was acceptable though it was obvious all was not going well! We put it down to a bad night.....but this is the real disappointment. Our friends phoned the mill to say how disappointed they were with the meal and was met with total indifference and offhandness that the call was ended sharply! What a shame after many great meals from lunches to dinner that they feel they can react like that to a customer...or should I say 4 ex customers!

Thank you for your review of your evening at one of our Theatre and Supper evenings. We are glad you liked the play but are obviously disappointed that you and your friends' expectations about the meal which accompanied the play were not met.

We aim to offer excellent quality of food and service at Fisherton Mill at all our events. Your friend telephoned and spoke with my husband, the chef, about the meal. He tried hard to ascertain what had gone wrong with your food and why no one mentioned it on the evening so that we could have rectified the situation at the time. From the conversation with your friend, and your review here, it is apparent you were all expecting a three course dinner. We clearly state in the advertising that we serve a light Supper, which by it's nature is not as filling and I expect was disappointing if you were hungry and expecting the sort of gourmet meal we serve at our other dining evenings. The menu was based around a middle eastern menu much of which is served at room temperature. At the theatre evenings we have to serve everyone the same meal, at the same time, in a very short interval of 30 minutes - and everyone eats exactly the same food to make service fast and efficient.

Had we known on the night that you preferred your meal hotter we could have acted to sort it out, likewise we would have responded to requests for a top up if there wasn't sufficient food. The last thing we want is for customers to go away unhappy. The opportunity for us to act has now passed and although my husband did say to your friend that he wanted to telephone you as well to discuss your disappointment, your friend would not hear of it and put the phone down on him before he could make amends. That is a pity as we would much rather discuss it in person rather than in public.

“The Wilton cafe is great too!”
Reviewed March 6, 2014 via mobile

Being great fans of the Salisbury Fisherton Mill, we were looking forward to visiting their new cafe in Wilton Shopping Village and were not disappointed! The service is very friendly and competent and the soup was absolutely delicious, as were the parmesan scones. Thoroughly recommended.
