A tip. The suggested donation signs means just that. You dont have to pay to get in. It's nice if you do put something in the donation box inside though. Tip 2, go on the guided tour.

“Don't miss visiting the Cathedral.”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

Excellent cafe there with glass roof so you can get good views of the spire. Frequent guided tours. The grounds are very beautiful and there are good walks nearby. Cathedral Close is nearby with its impressive houses, including Edward Heath's old home. In fact his ashes are buried in the cathedral itself.

“One of the finest”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Salisbury Cathedral was the main reason for our stay in Salisbury. The view is stunning, the architecture worth more than one close look. We liked the new font with the beautiful reflections of the stained glass windows and of the ribbed vault especially. The choir is marvellous and the famous “Father” Willis organ one of Britain’s finest instruments. Don’t forget to take a seat in the Cathedral’s Refectory Restaurant: have a cup of tea and enjoy the spectacular view of the spire towering over your head through the glass roof.

“"Best tenner spent in a long time"”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Came to Salisbury to see the Cathedral, my partner and I completed the towers tour which was exceptional value for money and hugely informative. We spent 90 minutes on the tour and another 2 hours looking around this great piece of 12th century history. The scale and achievement of this project is simply amazing and well worth the step back in time. We came back at night to take a look in the dark which was equally as impressive. If you can take the huge amount steps the tour is well worth it!
