“The Cathedral”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

From the outside you have the magnificent spire 404 feet high, with a slight lean, inside a very gracious place, full of history, The Magna Carta is on show, the oldest clock, still working, you can go on a tour up the inside of the spire, and on the modern side, sometimes artists have exhibitions on show,

“awe inspiring”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

It's awe inspiring, huge, wonderful architecture, wonderful sense of history. It is suggested (not compulsory) that a donation of £6.50 is made towards the upkeep of the cathedral - that seemed reasonable to me

“Visit to Salisbury City and Cathedral”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Our first visit to Salisbury will not be our last. What a delightful city it was to visit. We were on a day visit whilst staying at Littlecotes House in Berkshire. ( that is a wonderful place to stay ) . We decided to visit the cathedral first. It was certainly magnificent and instead of the huge entrance fee normally asked for the smiling lady on the entrance desk asked us to give a contribution. What a lovely change not to feel frisked. The cathedral should not be missed. Huge arches, amazing lead windows and a plethora of history. Very interesting and worthwhile. We decided to take a chance on the restaurant at the cathedral and again we were pleasantly surprised. A nice selection of hot and cold food at decent prices. Refreshed after our visit we toured this ancient city. A nice coach station for our departure completed the stay. Visit Salisbury if you can. It's well worth the visit.
