“Too old. Salisbury needs a multiplex cinema!!!”

The Odeon in Salisbury is in an old building which most people think is good but I don't. Who would want to visit this cinema when you can go to a nice, modern multiplex cinema in Bournemouth, Poole, Southampton and Yeovil. Salisbury really need a modern 10 screen multiplex cinema that actually looks up to scratch. I mean cinemas are meant to be modern. Its like opening and Argos store in a church. It just doesn't work. I mean look at the screens. All they have done is fitted some seats and a screen into an old room. If you want to go to see and old building, go to a theatre. The Odeon in Salisbury should look like what it does in the picture above. Salisbury is lacking in decent facilities and this is one of them. What the hell does Odeon think when they spend all that money just to make it look 'characteristic' when they can build a new, fresh cinema like they have in other places. I won't be visiting this cinema as there are much better cinemas around that are actually up to today's standard.

We went recently to the Odeon Cinema in Salisbury, its a lovely traditional building and has a really good and large Screen 1. With cinema becoming more popular I can recommend going here. Nice Popcorn too.

Original tudor beams in the topmost screen; all comfortable seating - several screens to choose from. Latest films.

This building is very old and must be the only 15th/16th century cinema in the country (I know Henry the V111 only had a still camera!) I go here regularly to see current films but have been recently to see specials like Andrea Boccelli - Love in Portofino -(magic) - and Alice in Wonderland the Ballet on a,live feed from the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. Some of the screen are small but the larger screen at the top of the building really shows the age of the building with chandelliers the like of which could have been swung on by Tyrone Power and have never been cleaned by the Trotters! I signed up on line to the Premiere Club and get lots of points even for my Ben and Jerry icecreams.
