We had a rare child free evening and decided to go somewhere a little bit more special for a change. The food was delicious, the menu isn't huge but there was plenty to choose from. The chocolate fondant was scrumptious but i couldn't finish it on my own. Really lovely atmosphere too.

My family and I visited Les Mirabelles. The service is fantastic, they are friendly and cater for your every need. Your glass is never empty. The food is amazing. The frog legs fish cakes were divine. The wine list is incredible. It is expensive but it is well worth it.

Recently celebrated my 40th with a gang of friends on a Friday lunchtime!
The 'Le Frog' menu is great value for money and Claude and his team worked wonders (as they always do).

Considering 13 of us dined and the restaurant was full of others our food was cooked to perfection and the steaks were to die for!

Love it - best restaurant around for miles and great value for money....

We went to Les Mirabelles for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner, the food was lovely and the service very good. My husband ordered the Tbone steak which was huge (filled the plate) it was cooked perfectly, but he could only eat half of it. We shared a chocolate fondant pudding (but unfortunately there was not a lot of fondant) but it didnt spoil our enjoyment. My husband did mention when booking that it was our 25th anniversary but we didnt get anything special (ie a glass of champagne), but I suppose you dont ask you dont get!!

Les Mirabelles (The Plums) is in the tiny village of Nomansland. There's a pub next door and that's about it - although there is a telephone kiosk at the other end of the village.
We booked a table for 2 for dinner at 7:30. The restaurant was starting to fill when we arrived and most diners seem to have booked for 7:30 or 8:00p.m. The decor is modern and very elegant. Beautiful curtains. Crisp table linen. Comfortable chairs at generously sized polished beech tables.
We were greeted and seated by Claude and our aperitifs and menus soon followed . The waitress gave us a good description of the chef’s specials for the evening.
You’ll see from The Mirabelles website (http://www.lesmirabelles.co.uk/index.php) that there is a set menu and also a la carte. The menu, plus the specials, really do spoil you for choice - so many exciting and unexpected items. We started with the snails in pastry with a garlic and truffle sauce, and the pigeon terrine and salad. For main course we had brill served with a lobster and crayfish sauce and lamb stuffed with apricots. Both were served with seasonal veg. For dessert…. Well they were as mouth-wateringly delicious as the rest of the meal – but I’m not saying what we had – you need to have some surprises in life. Everything about the food was perfect.
The restaurant doesn’t have a wine list – it has a wine encyclopaedia! We aren’t wine experts, but nor are we novices – but there were so many to choose from, we asked Claude for his recommendation. He returned with a bottle and said “This will do the trick” – and he was spot on.
The whole experience was superb. The view over the common with New Forest ponies. The flavours and presentation of the food of course. The ambience too. And the bill didn’t leave us destitute. We were holidaying and staying overnight in Nomansland. That was a big plus, and you certainly would need a taxi to fully appreciate your time at Les Mirabelles and drive home without breaking the law.
We have absolutely no negative comments to make about dining at Les Mirabelles and are already making plans for a return visit.
