“Simply the BEST for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea in Salisbury.”
Reviewed January 28, 2014

Best atmosphere, best service, best food. Be sure to save room for dessert! The homemade cake / dessert selection is lovely. What a shame you aren't open in the evenings :-(

This was another good find on trip advisor for me… my first visit was in fact looking for a great breakfast (after years of searching in the area) and it far exceeded my expectations. The omelettes as well as Full English and Veggie breakfasts are amazing as are the more simple choices and there is absolutely nothing comparable in Salisbury. Excellent coffee, service with a smile… what else do you need!

Since then I have been going back for more and love the seasonal menu, fresh cooking, great service and environment. Ask for a table by the window upstairs in the dining room when making a booking and you can enjoy a good read, a bit of people watching below or a comfy space to chat with friends/family, sometimes with a bit of afternoon sun through the window too.

Though it's not always necessary, I'd definitely advise a booking during peak lunch hours & expect a bit of a wait at times… This is not a conveyor belt restaurant, the food is all cooked fresh to order and you know it because it tastes so good!

One can tell by the creative menu (including many choices for those with dietary restrictions) as well as the good humoured staff that they really care about what they do…so a big thank you to Richard & Louise and all for making this my favourite restaurant in Salisbury.

See you again soon!

“Delicious in every way”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

This is how a cafe should be! As soon as you walk in the vibe is friendly, relaxed and professional. The food is freshly cooked , responsibly sourced and cooked to perfection. All around you are people chatting and enjoying their freshly cooked breakfast, light lunch or whatever they have ordered. The staff are lovely and helpful in making sure that you have the meal you want cooked just how you like it. If you are visiting Salisbury and want a break from trekking around the sites or the shops this is the place to go .

“A lovely gem hidden in the heart of Salisbury”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

This is a wonderful place if you are looking for a small restaurant or café experience where they haven't forgotten the importance of service and a friendly smile. I have now become a regular visitor, using the place as a drop-in for coffee and email catch-up between meetings, as well as for light lunches with friends and family. Everyone I have taken to Greengages have been impressed with both the quality of the food and the warm welcome we have received.

A superb effort by Richard and the team!

“surprisingly good”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

My first visit and I was impressed. Full when we arrived on a Saturday lunchtime, but my mobile number was taken and sure enough, once a table was free - we were rung and went back.
The staff are both friendly and efficient and the menu had interesting choices that included the 'norm' but also added in stuff that made a decision difficult. Good choices for those who are veggie or have issues with gluten, but I went for the very nice home made burger. My wife went for an slightly off-beat choice and really enjoyed it too.
It's a place that makes an effort with both it's service and it's menu and I am looking forward to going back.
