We were heading for a concert, at Leeds Townhall and wanted a meal somewhere nearby first. We have managed to find a place in The Light on previous occasions but on Saturday (22nd March) everywhere was booked up and packed (around 5.30pm). We went to Zizzi's, amongst a host of other places, and were told (for two people) the wait would be over half an hour. We had no choice. We gave our name and walked around for about 10 minutes (there are no public areas to sit in The Light). We went back to Zizzi's to wait there and were admitted actually after a matter of minutes.
The food was lovely. Fresh, good quality, generous portions, good value for money and nicely served - all the more welcome for very nearly not having had any at all! - the serving staff are so friendly, cheerful and helpful. A special mention for Matthew ( I did promise!) who was on "Front of house" door duty, fending off or accommodating the crowds (there were of course loads of people like us hunting food!) He was so sweet - retaining equanimity, pleasantness and calm in such hectic and difficult circumstances. Thank you for finding us a table.
Wouldn't' hesitate to go here again.
