Description: At Zizzi we like to do things a little differently. We don’t do over-complicated recipes or scrimpy portion sizes. We’re all about the well-chosen ingredients, simply put together to make exceptional Italian food.Smack dab in the heart of Leeds’ city centre leisure complex, one of our newer Zizzis stands ready to greet you. Our designers pulled inspiration from the city’s strong roots in the textile and wool industry. There are colourful Knitted wool stools that have been inspired by the city where the material originated. \we’ve even had a bespoke textile designed by Luke Trybula which forms the upholstery of the central seating feature. It’s certainly a restaurant that turns heads.

“An act of kindness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014

We were heading for a concert, at Leeds Townhall and wanted a meal somewhere nearby first. We have managed to find a place in The Light on previous occasions but on Saturday (22nd March) everywhere was booked up and packed (around 5.30pm). We went to Zizzi's, amongst a host of other places, and were told (for two people) the wait would be over half an hour. We had no choice. We gave our name and walked around for about 10 minutes (there are no public areas to sit in The Light). We went back to Zizzi's to wait there and were admitted actually after a matter of minutes.
The food was lovely. Fresh, good quality, generous portions, good value for money and nicely served - all the more welcome for very nearly not having had any at all! - the serving staff are so friendly, cheerful and helpful. A special mention for Matthew ( I did promise!) who was on "Front of house" door duty, fending off or accommodating the crowds (there were of course loads of people like us hunting food!) He was so sweet - retaining equanimity, pleasantness and calm in such hectic and difficult circumstances. Thank you for finding us a table.
Wouldn't' hesitate to go here again.

“Great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2014

Called in on a Saturday night after trying to get into other places. The food was great. We ordered two pizza's, salad and Tuscan potatoes. We picked the right place but only one quibble would be to have different lighting! It was too bright and needed toning down!!

“Surprisingly good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2014

My wife and I paid a late afternoon/early evening visit here for a quick bite to eat prior to going to see a concert at the town hall a couple of weeks ago.
I know this place can get very busy later in the evening and I can't vouch for the service at such times but our experience was very good.
I must admit I wasn't expecting much as Zizzi is a restaurant chain and food chains tend to cook down to a budget. However, the food we has was excellent. I had the lasagne and my wife had a pasta dish.
Service was great, food was surprisingly good and there was a very good atmosphere.
Would I go again? Definitely; but probably only for a late afternoon or early evening meal as I suspect the service may deteriorate when they're overwhelmed.

“Gets very busy but service can't keep up”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2014

Booked a table online for 10 people for a special occasion. Arrived on time and waited 5-10 mins for anyone to even acknowledge us. They were very busy as every table was occupied and the staff looked stressed. The manager eventually greeted us and told us to wait at the bar as our table wasn't yet ready. We walked over to the bar area which was dirty! Dirty glasses and plates were stacked all along it. No-one asked us if we would like a drink as they were too busy running around. After standing here for another 10 mins the manager came over and informed us that our table was still not ready as they were finishing off dessert. He gave us all a glass of prosecco for the inconvenience though.

Eventually we were seated but service was just as slow from here. It took ages for any food to arrive and when we ordered another round of drinks they brought out drinks for 8 of us and left myself and another friend waiting 10 mins for ours. The food was average zizzi menu but we found the pizza sauces to be on the sweet side. They mixed up my dessert order which was eventually rectified once I complained. If it wasn't for the good company and good wine (there wine list is good) then we wouldn't have had an enjoyable evening.

This is just a pet peeve of mine but I don't like it when places add a service charge especially when the service isn't up to scratch anyway.

“Lovely meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2014 via mobile

I booked a table online not having been here before, upon arrival we were greeted with a very warm welcome we sat order drinks and pondered over the menu, between the two of us we decided to share so ordered two pizzas the food was with us in no time at all, and you could see from the open kitchen it was cooked to order, as the waiter put the pizzas down we explained we were sharing so he offered to cut the pizzas up into equal sizes and also offered us extra side plates, it seemed like nothing was too much trouble we declined the desert as the pizzas were just enough but by the looks of the menu it's a definite try next tome and after the great service This evening we will defiantly be back!
