“Good for gluten free”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

The food was excellent, for a coeliac, there is plenty of choice and the puddings were wonderful. However, the service was very slow. Although it was a Saturday night, the restaurant wasn't very busy, but we had to wait along time for both our main meal and dessert. The whole meal took over two hours. There was no apology.
With the 20% discount through crossed grain! the meal seemed good value especially as the quality of food was very good. I would go again, but probably only at lunch time

“Lovely food but indifferent service”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

The food was fine, but the service left concerns regarding the billing. The staff appeared to begrudge implementing the special offers that make it such good value.

“Absolutely terrible”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

Diabolical customer service. We twice had to complain about mojitos as we were basically given a glass of ice with 3 sips of liquid in. We were given a blank look. I complained about my beetroot, butternut squash and carrot salad. It was basically some diced beetroot and grated carrot in a revolting sauce. There was no butternut squash to be seen. I told the waiter who went to speak to the chef and was then told that is how it comes!!!! How can that be how it comes! I pointed out i was not happy to pay just short of £5 for a couple of spoonfuls of beetroot. Nothing was done about it. Dreadful customer service. Also the garlic bread was stale.

“Let down.”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

Came here recently for a friend's 21st birthday meal.

First of, it was so slow. Everything took forever, It seemed like there were only 2 people working the entire restaurant, it took about 30 minutes for our bread to come out and a good hour plus before we got our mains.

The actual food was quite nice, it wasn't fantastic but I don't think you could complain massively about the quality, however the portions were disappointingly small, whilst it isn't exactly cheap when you're paying £5 odd a dish and get 4 prawns or 2 bits of rib.

After waiting so long for the food we were all starving, so to see the portion sizes was disheartening. Which is a shame because this place could have been nice.

We also had issue with the birthday voucher, where by you get a free bottle of champagne, at first they did not want to accept it but eventually conceded, so merit to them for that. We also had a 20% off voucher (there were 8 of us at the meal, so the 20% voucher held a lot more weight than the bottle of champagne.) However at the end of the meal they informed us we could not use two vouchers in conjunction with each other, which whilst not exactly surprising, they should have informed us of first. However luckily they were patient with this and allowed us both the free champagne and the 20% off voucher, so they did themselves some justice on that part.

In short: Expected more, nice food but far too long a wait and left hungry.
