Flying Pizza is an established institution in Leeds. We went for lunch, and wanted something special and extra before we headed off on holiday - we were not disappointed. The range of food available is astonishing, both on the standard and the specials menu, and the service is very attentive. We chose the tartare of tuna (magnificent) and the mussels mariniere (excellent and just the right amount of cream) as starters, followed by the lemon sole and the mixed grilled fish, both of which were lovely. The side dishes were also good, particularly the zucchini - probably the best I've had. We chose a glass of white wine each, a chardonnay and a vermentino - different but both excellent, and went well with the food. The only slight quibble we had was that we thought the fish was slightly overcooked to qualify as perfect - perhaps that's what the clientele wants, but a shame nevertheless. The low ceiling means that it can be very noisy and difficult to have a romantic night out, but does give a good buzz. Recommended.

My Sweetheart and I often choose Flying Pizza as the comfortable option! We know they serve till late, we often arrive well after 10pm, our excuse is always because we have been really busy, but really it is to avoid the parties singing Happy Birthday! (cringe), we know what to expect and we know that we'll be looked after.

We love this place, nothing is too much hassle, the food is always spot-on and we are waited on perfectly from the moment we arrive till the excellent staff wave us a good evening.

We rate Flying Pizza as one of our favourite restaurants, not as somewhere to pick fault with as others do on this site :-(

Ordered the "Flying Pizza Risotto" available as a starter or main course size - I ordered the Main Course size at £16.95 and thought I would be in for a real feast, Smoked Haddock, King Prawn and Quail's Eggs along with the Risotto rice. I was very disappointed with the portion size and had to help my girl finish her Pizza to feel even half full.
Whilst the food was tasty do think before ordering this dish as your only course.

have not used ths highly popoular dining spot for over 30 years but it has not changed the ambiance despite the new owners if you want a highly atmospheric restaurant with a good varied (not cheap) but to be honest not as expensive as i thought menu wines however are overpriced especially by the glass this is definatly the place to be smartly dresses men and women plenty of amani shirts and low back dresses not a female tatoo in sight a great spot for peolpe watching
the table we got seemed to be squashed in between to parties not too good we were not too botherd but the other members of our party were so spoiled the evening a little as i said food /service /is good wines and drinks do increase the bill substantially however the alfresco section looked good unfortunatly even due to climate change accross the globe there are very few nights in north leeds warm enough to eat outside although a great touch during the summer days for a spot of lunch
overall loads of atmosphere/food ok /service ok but if you are looking for a intimate evenings dining not for you
we will be back but maybe avoiding the saturday night crush

We had a very lax waiter, seemed disinterested throughout serving us, but was more than happy to serve the large group who came in after us. The food was nice enough though.
