We needed an early evening meal on Saturday and decided to try this place as it looked interesting, and was nearby. It proved to be an excellent choice and I'd certainly recommend it, based on our experience.
We enjoyed a vegetarian salad (£6), a sausage and mash (£8), and a lemon and chicken pasta (£7.50), and all were excellent. For drinks we had a glass of Macabeo (£3.70), a cranberry juice (£2.50), and a bottle of Hoegaarden (£3.50), bringing the total bill to a very reasonable £31.20. No doubt they attract a lot of students because of the area they're in, but this still seems like very good value for excellent fresh food that comes in ample portions. Service was attentive and pleasant, though as we were rather early, they weren't too busy. We found somewhere to park on the road behind as the café is situated on the busy main road. If you need somewhere between the city centre and Headingley you could do a lot worse than go here.
