“Most authentic Indian food in Leeds”
Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

We went to Hansa's as a large group celebrating a birthday and a fair few were slightly fearful of a completely vegetarian menu, however everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and it made such a nice change to eat indian dishes that tasted so different.

There are no Kormas or rogan josh on this menu, but instead a nice selection of traditional Indian dishes, the sort of food you would find in an Indian family home.

Highlights for me was the batura bread and the chapattis were the best I've tasted in a restaurant. I had the Ondhiyu curry with khachadi khadi rice and it was fantastic, fairy spicy but this is how I like it. A few brave souls in our party asked for the food hot and it certainly was!!

The service was attentive and the waitresses were helpful in explaining what the dishes were and recommending what goes best together.

The value for money was excellent and there is a nice ambiance to the place with a lovely warm welcome from the owners.

I shall definitely be back and am now a convert to vegetarian food. Thanks again to Hansa's for a wonderful evening.

“A delightful return to a favourite”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

What a lovely evening in Hansa's, having not been for a couple of years since my boyfriend and I graduated and left Leeds we were so excited to go over and made the conscious decision to back there for our dinner.
Superb service from the girls and Hansa herself, the food as always was so full of flavours and it really is a place that you just cannot describe to people until they go themselves. It is a unique experience and the best Indian meal I have ever eaten.
My boyfriend a firm meat eater always says he never misses meat when he is there! Bonus!
Thanks to everyone last night who made our return so special, hopefully it won't take us so long to come back next time.

“OUTSTANDING VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

We were wonderfully surprised by the wonderful hospitality and atmosphere of this lovely family run restaurant. Having visited many years ago we decided to go again eight years later for a Sunday buffet!

The traditional all home cooked cuisine is to die for! Beautiful vegetarian selection.....Exquisite taste and flavour to every single bite. Being vegan it was so good to know that everything available to eat here was ethically sound with zero cruelty or complicity to harming animals. They even had vegan ice cream.

You feel you have been eating there for years it is so welcoming as is all the service from the staff there. The food is cooked with love and kindness and the energy of the whole place is just lovely. It shines through! Hansa and her husband were there too, very much hands on.

We bought Hansas fabulous new cookery book too, a great finishing touch to a great meal out.

Thank you so much, we will be back. Please try it if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed. The Sunday buffet has so much to offer that it caters for every taste. Even the meat eaters with us did not miss the meat! Value for money too compared to most restaurants for the quality, selection and variety.

I wish I lived in Leeds to be able to eat there all the time!

It made my stay with relatives being able to eat REAL food. Loved it so much!

“The Best Non-Traditional Indian Feast in Leeds”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

Dining at Hansas is a totally unique experience. The menu offers many classic Indian dish concepts in a new and different way. It's a wonderful place to bring vegetarians and meat-eaters alike; even meat-eaters leave raving about the food--never even noticing they were eating completely veg!

The Hansas sizzler is easily one of the best dishes, along with the masala dosa and the chevti daal. It's a great date place, and is also extremely accommodating to groups! Go once and you'll keep returning!

“Great Gujarti food. Worth seeking out.”
Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

Hansa's isn't your bog standard 'Indian' restaurant. You won't find the usual Pakistani & Bangladeshi fare crowding the menu. Instead you get great Gujarati cooking. Real Indian food. 100% vegetarian. And 100% delicious. We wanted to try as much as possible so opted for the 'surprise' menu, which gives you a range of starters, mains and desserts plus rice & breads. At £75 for four people, this represents excellent value. Everything was superb. Standouts for me were the chilli paneer  and the baby pumpkin curry. They were happy to provide us with top ups of each main course too so you can guarantee you won't go hungry. Worth seeking out. You won't be disappointed.
