“Nice for somewhere to still be FREE!!!!”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

Great that you can still go somewhere that is still FREE. Most places find some way to charge you but even the parking is free. My little boy loved playing in the park and it was a great place for us all to have a ice cream and a walk

“Excellent free day”
Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

Having visited Tropical World with my 3 year old Granddaughter on a beautiful sunny Sunday, it was a natural progression to visit Roundhay Park. We weren't disappointed. It was full of families enjoying precious time together, though in a park of this scale, it was not at all cramped. We played football on the vast open spaces, ate our picnic on the well tended grass and generally had a lovely time whilst feeling as though w e were almost in open countryside. The children's play area was well equipt, safe and clean. My only grumble from the entire day here was this though. Whilst the play stuff was excellent and it was very clean there simply wasn't enough of it for a park of this size. 4 swings, for example....2 toddler and two older! I've seen larger play area's on housing estates. Also there was a distinct lack of seating for the adults to sit and watch the children playing, not only inside this area, bit immediately outside as well. This is a great shame as it was so busy and clearly well used.
A small teacup roundabout fairground ride, complimented the play park as did the bouncy castle. Both charged £1.50.
All in all we had a great day and could have spent much much longer here. Parking is difficult as every spare inch is taken on surrounding rounds, however it is very easily reached by public transport. However, on a wet day, little to do and virtually no shelter apart from the cafe. Go and enjoy yourself, for you will!

“Great place for a day out”
Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

We went for a family day out with my husband's elderly gran. Definitely a place for the whole family. Such a big place with plenty to do around. Perfect for a picnic. We will definitely be returning

“A lovely place for a gentle walk”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

A little gem just minutes from the centre of Leeds. Lovely gentle walks with good paths, lakeside and woodland views. Playgrounds for children and lots of photo opportunities for the adults.Lakeside cafe is great but be prepared for a larger than normal bill for cafe food.
