We went last weekend for a couple of hours. This is a huge park with something for everyone of all ages to enjoy.

There’s ample parking, a rose garden, large pond with ducks and swans etc great play area for children, a skate park and cafes with snacks and ices at reasonable prices. There are also semi rural large areas where you can walk, cycle or picnic.

Entry and parking are free.

We would like to congratulate LCC on their far sighted rejuvenation of Middleton Park. As an older couple we have lived in Middleton all our lives and now walk into and around the park almost daily. We love the visitor centre and cafe, our children and now grandchildren have always enjoyed the play area. Especially (grandchildren) love the new improved play area. It is fantastic to see young people and families coming from all over the North to utilise the new bike tracks, giving Middleton Park a whole new life available for all generations. We often pause in our walks to discuss with the bikers their experience and have always found them to be courteous in their response. The only minor downside is the extra litter but are thrilled to see so many people enjoying our park.

used to love going to middleton park me and my wife, but since the new bike track was opened its a nightmare the bikers are riding on the paths that are for walkers and not the bike track.we are old and they are young and when you tell them to get off the walk way you just get abuse its not just me all the walkers think the same,it needs a fence puting up to stop them coming on the pathway.

One of the best parks around, lots of nice walking paths through some amazing scenery, This park has a dedicated large area for bikes, with tracks for beginners going up to some serious mountain bike routes, there’s a nice large pond area, with a playground for the young ones, it also has a large open area’s were events take place, during our visit it was the 1st day of the Kite festival, which was great fun. This Park also has a visitor centre were you can find out everything you need to know, theirs lots of other things here but we only got chance to do about a quarter of what’s on offer, we will be back to do more very soon.

It has been many years since me last visit. Better than we remembered. Wide open spaces for ball games, paths big enough for pedestrians and and cyclists. Occasional information board on areas mining history. Decent sized cafe and still people fishing in the pond (caught a pike there 50 years back).
