“Excellent venue and staff”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

Our second visit to the arena to see Leonard Cohen on sat 7th of September having seen Bruce Springsteen there in July.
It is an excellent venue and the sound on Saturday was superb. The tiered seats are a little short on legroom for anyone 6' or more but no worse than most football stadiums.
The organisation is very good, the bars and refreshment stations are efficient and well laid out although queues are unavoidable given the number of people present and there is plenty of circulation space outside the auditorium.
The staff are pleasant and helpful and Leonard was brilliant. The nearby Merrion centre multi storey car park is very good value at £5 after I think 6.00.

“Hooray for Leeds Arena!”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

Brilliant night at Leonard Cohen concert at Leeds Arena. It was high time Leeds had its own arena and this impressive new venue did not disappoint. A superb performance from Cohen and his musicians comprising songs old and new, was enhanced by the excellent sound quality and well laid out seating for around 15,000. We had a good view of the stage even though our seats were right out at the side edge.
Coming into the arena, it is like a concrete underground car park, with bars selling basic but adequate food and tour merchandise shops. The security staff were pleasant and helpful, whilst having proceedings well under control and enabled a surprisingly quick exit after the concert.
One small complaint ... During the concert we could hear the staff talking on mobiles and chatting, so would advise people to avoid the very outer edge seats for that reason.

“Not recommended for Vertigo/Acrophobia sufferers!”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

Wonderful new arena, very close to the city centre. Very competent & friendly staff who marshall up to 13,000 people very skilfully. Good facilities including bars, plenty of toilets etc.
Good acoustics
Seats aren't the most comfortable (especially after 3hours) and upper tier rises at a very steep angle which can feel a bit scary!

“First visit”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Bought the best seats in the house for Leonard Cohen's concert 2013 but squirmed for 3+hours on the basic and flimsy chairs lined up on the floor in front of the stage. People in the permanent seats further back had a better view and comfort, grrr!

Impressed with the stewarding for the event and the way the huge crowd was able to exit the auditorium at the end. Heard women complaining about the interval queues for the loos - a unfortunate in a venue opened only months ago.

“Impressive venue”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Just done second visit - Elton John after seeing Bruce Springsteen recently. A new venue, and for this type of event, it is impressive. Great views from all angles, and the sound quality is good. Access in and getting out on foot very good, and the staff seem to have worked out what they need to do. As with all other such venues, prices of drinks etc are not cheap...you cannot take anything in, so don't even try!
