Went last Sunday for lunch 4 adults and 6 kids. Food was fantastic really tasty. Finished off with desserts and the kids had icecreams all round which were 3 scoops worth. Really good value and a very relaxed atmosphere.

well here is the comment I received back from the myrtle tavern when I commented on face book "don't bother with this place if they are having a function as u will get short thrift if u try to get a drink or any sort of service".

STAY IN AUSTRALIA THEN!

so I think their reply speaks for itself. draw your own conclusion as to the attitude they have to their customers or potential ones.

I went there with my partner for a Sunday roast. We had prawns and Brie wedges for starters, both were delicious. The roast beef was excellent. Tasty veg, crispy roast potatoes, and the meat was incredibly good. The gravy was too salty for me, but apart from that the whole meal was excellent. The problem is that we were in there for about 2 hours (we only finished our meal around half past two as a consequence)! We had to wait quite a while for the starters, and waited a ridiculously long time to get our roasts. It didn't look like there were a lot of people having food either, so I'm not too sure why it happened. The staff are all lovely, no problem there. It was a very good price too - about £20 for the two of us. But please sort out the waiting time!!!

We went for Sunday lunch on a friend's recommendation and it was very tasty indeed. The vegetarian option was excellent, and all of the food was great value for money. Their MyrtAle beer was beautiful too. We'll be going back for sure!

Under the most recent Landlord the Myrtle has gone from strength to strength supporting and serving the local community. It is a welcoming pub with frequent events and excellent beer. The food is good. It has a real "local pub" feel but in no way off putting for new visitors. There is a huge beer garden for the warmer days and the pub is right opposite a cricket pitch. From parties to ghost hunts to discos to quizzes to just a quiet afternoon over a pint this place has offered a lot in the last couple of years.
