We live locally and this is often our sunday destination. We would however, travel to it even if it wasn't so convenient. Good food and good service in nice surroundings, a nice place to take visiting family, sometimes wish it wasn't so child friendly as screaming kids whilst your eating is a bit off putting but apart from that all ok!

The Location is beautiful and the staff are well trained, the bar staff seem a little moody though. Ordered a sandwich on a warm lunch day, I have to say, the bread was soggy and the beef was touch. Had mushrooms for starter, they were just full of oil. Won't be returning to eat again.

We visited this pub/restaurant on bank holiday Monday. It was lovely weather, so we sat outside on the patio. There was plenty of room to eat in the extensive gardens and ample parking. Despite the bank holiday and as a result the many diners, we were able to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace without feeling under pressure to vacate our table as soon as we had finished our meal. The food was good, plentiful and well presented and also reasonably priced. Because this pub is part of the Vintage Inns group they do accept the Gourmet card. The staff tried their best to serve us with good grace and friendliness. We had one difficult member of our group who returned her pudding for a different sauce and they were vaery gracious about it! Overall, it's a good place to eat for everyday occasions. We would recommend it.

Just eaten at the calverley arms for lunch and it was memorable for all the wrong reasons! Been there 4 times now and haven't been as disappointed as we have today the service was terrible we must have been in there well over 2 hours just for lunch! Ordered drinks which took 20 mins to come and after the 40 min wait for food it was burnt! By the time we were asked how it was we had nearly eaten it and just wanted to get out of there! On asking for the bill I see I was charged for the wrong meal and after speaking with the manager she was not really too bothered to be fair -just taking 20% off our bill and a very un- meaningful apology! Also the female toilets were disgusting: needless to say me and my family will not be returning and we will not be speaking highly of this place again.

This is one of our favourite places to come and eat.

Pros:
- Lovely atmosphere, especially outside on a sunny day, nice surroundings
- Friendly and cheerful staff, always a pleasure to deal with
- Food is always nice and impressive portion sizes
- Reasonable prices
- You don't seem to get any "riff-raff" here

Cons:
- The only criticism I have is that the churros sundae desert, whilst gorgeous, has way too much cream in, just needs more ice cream and less whipped cream

We will always happily return here!
