Description: The Calverley Arms in Calverley is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

It was a hot day we arrived late afternoon the staff were busy but friendly. We sat outside which had full waitress service. We ordered our meal the menu was varied I chose the salmon salad. This was quite imaginative with pomegranite seeds, carrot and even a flower. The steak and ale pie was good and large in size. When the meals came there was no cutlery so the cutlery arrived 5 minutes after my husband was served. This was wrong and bad service who wants to sit looking at there dinner without any cutlery to eat it with. As my meal came just abit later the cutlery then arrived. I do appreciate how busy the staff are and how hard they work in the heat, but the cutlery should arrive first.

Upon arriving greeted by very polite staff. Had to wait 30 minutes for a table but this was because they were very busy so we didn't mind.
Food arrived within 20 minutes dispite how busy it was. We both ordered gammon steaks which were a bit dry and a tad on the tough side. The main over all was ok though.
For pudding we had Sticky toffee ginger pudding and Belgium chocolate brownie. The toffee pudding came on a hot plate but for some reason was cold however tasted very nice. Brownie was rich and flavoursome but did not have the consistency of a brownie.
Over all atmosphere and service was good and the food was nice.

Eaten here frequently and food is consistently good with pleasant service. Gets busy on a weekend but if you want a midweek lunch in peaceful surrounding this is an excellent choice. Also taking a baby is no problem. Got a new pie menu which is interesting. One of our favourite family options or just as a couple

There for nearly two hours and main courses still not served. Filthy table and nearly half an hour before drinks arrived.Left in DISGUST before main courses arrived!!! The manager is an absolute joke didnt even apologise blamed it on the restaurant doubling in size either sack him or send him on a management course instead of arguing with customers!
