“New Years Eve”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014 via mobile

Me and my girlfriend decided at 8.20pm on New Years Eve that we would go out for a meal, we rang Miller and Carter and booked straight in for 9.30pm. Staff were very polite upon arrival and throughout the meal.

To start with we shared the sharing platter which had BBQ Chicken Wings, Calamari, Garlic Ciabatta bread and Nachos, which was all excellent!

For Main I had a 12oz Rib Eye cooked Medium. The steak was perfect and not chewy, I usually go for a fillet but fancied a change at the waitress' recommendation. It came with fries and peppercorn sauce, I also ordered a chicken and chorizo skewer, all in all fantastic so far.

Desert. My girlfriend had the Creme Brûlée which was great however I'd pigged out a little so far, so opt'd for the chocolate pot and a Cappucino. I was a little disappointed as I could hardly taste the chocolate, the cream on top tasted better. Unfortunately the Cappucino tasted more like a Latte.

On the whole, brilliant food but with a disappointing end. Would go back again just for a different desert.

“Christmas Eve”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

Having previously visited the Garforth Miller & Carter with no problems and excellent service, we decided to book for Christmas Eve at the Leeds Light restaurant. We were a party of 8 booked in at 8pm. The restaurant wasn't very busy which we were surprised at due to the time of year. There were a number of staff members stood around talking. The drinks order was taken promptly although the order wasn't correctly taken and the waitress still had to bellow out the drinks to us when she arrived back to our table. The food order was taken with no problems and the starters didn't taken long to come out to us. Again the waitress had to bellow out the starters to us. In the Garforth outlet the staff seem to know exactly who is having what without having to speak, not sure why the Leeds Light restaurant has to shout of the meals. Anyway the starters were very nice and we didn't have to wait long for them. For mains we ordered 3 Chateaubriand, 1 Rump and a Barbecue Chicken. When the steaks came out, two of them were not cooked properly. They were ordered well done but came to the table bloody. The onion loaf was stone cold. The waitress was useless, there was no check back to ask if everything else was okay and the lettuce wedge came along side the main. Surely this is a palate cleanser and should be served before the main. The desserts were very nice and came out pretty quick. I probably seem picky, but after being to another restaurants from the same brand, you get to expect a certain standard and clearly the Leeds Light one doesn't follow 'brand standard'. I will not be back to this restaurant.

Spent our first Christmas away, and decided to book Miller and Carter, the menu was ace and reasonably priced for Christmas day.

The food was awesome, one of the best I have eaten.

The service was incredible, thanks Joe for making our day so special.

God willing, see you next year!!!

“Canadian Seal of Approval!”

Stopped in at M&C for our anniversary recently. Had an incredible meal and the service was outstanding. The host, John Roberts, surprised us with a bottle of champagne on the house. Very wonderful evening and the staff made it memorable!
