We visited Nazmas last year as it is just at the end of our street. We had been numerous times before and always found the food to be of a reasonable standard (although sometimes too much ghee used!).
However, this experience was my last. We tried to book for a Thursday night over the phone using a Tastecard. The waiter on the phone said they didn't take Tastecard anymore. When I challenged this, he mumbled, spoke to someone else and then agreed.
We turned up at the restaurant and were the only diners for five minutes or so. We were joined in the restaurant after a short while by two females, who were seated on an adjacent table. Whilst we were eating our starter, we overheard the waiter taking the other diner's order. One of the women said she would like to order a starter as a main course; the waiter said she could not do this. The woman tried to explain that she has had half her stomach removed but the waiter was unmoved. After an unpleasant scene, the two women left and were understandably angry. My wife and I could probably understand that at peak times, ordering a starter as a main course might not be the done thing, but when the restaurant is empty this seemed extremely mean behaviour.
To compound the appalling experience, when we tried to pay the bill the waiter said the Tastecard was valid for one course only. I had to show him the Terms and Conditions before he would believe me that it covered all courses.
In summary: Message to Nazma; DO NOT sign up to the Tastecard for free advertising if you cannot honour the deal! This is not acceptable service.
I would rather cook my own Asian cuisine now than put money in the pockets of this establishment.
