Description: Friends of Ham is a Bar & Charcuterie situated in Leeds City Centre. A buzzy Continental-style cafe bar that has recently been named as the Best Place to Drink in the UK in The Observer Food Monthly Awards and undergone a major expansion. Specialising in Italian & Spanish cured meats, the finest cheeses from around the world, sherry and wines; we also serve up craft beer by the bucket-load with 14 taps and over 150 bottles.

Introduced to this bar last week, and initially thought it quite good......then I went downstairs! No no, not for that reason, but because its completely different and got the greatest vibe. Makes a nice contrast to the corporate chains in the Trinity.

The beer all looked good, particularly the Pilsner (which if you've never had as a real ale, is a thing you should do before you die). I had the Ilkley Brewery Holy Cow.

We shared a ham, charcuterie and cheese board, started on the wine list and enjoyed the atmosphere. At table service starts downstairs next month.

This is the kind of bar that could have been used to film 'Friends', does that make me a Norm?

The main thing was that everything seemed to be chosen because it tasted great, which is what all the best places are about.

If you like different then you must go to this Charcuterie/ bar/eatery. Never seen anything quite like it before but it is amazing. The staff were soooooo knowledgable about the hams, cheeses and drinks and fabulously friendly. The menu consists of boards with a choice of hams, cheeses, olives, chutneys etc but not your run of the mill plastic ham we are talking iberico etc a real gourmet delight.Upstairs is quite small with wooden stools but downstairs is another world where you feel that you have just walked into someones lounge to share a fab meal. Extensive beer and wine menu and also half a dozen unusual hand pulls.Went as a couple but would love to spend an evening here with friends.

Pricey but I did think we had value for money with no rush to finish, interesting drinks, great meats and fantastic cheeses. We had no idea about the seating downstairs but sate on comfy stools at the side upstairs. I would go again, not every week, but to try something different occasionally. The staff serving customers here are just delightful. Congratulations owners / managers on a great idea, landed well.

Don't be put off by the tiny street frontage: downstairs is a much larger basement room where you can spread out on comfortable chairs.

The food was very good - not cheap, but excellent quality meats and cheeses, complemented by good wine and beers, and friendly, attentive service.
