Stopped here for beer and cod and chips (£9 for meal+pint). Smart traditional decor, well kept beer. Food was fine, good portion, great chips. Best thing was the staff who were very relaxed and friendly. Felt really looked after both when choosing pints and when being served my food. Attentive staff who were chatty and there to help without being in your face about it.

A friendly watering hole not far from the station, has a range of meal deals throughout the day. Good value and tasty with a good range of cask ales etc. helpful staff and quick service made for a good evening meal on a Monday when many other eating places were shut.

This is a smashing pub. I have had their £8 meal and a drink deal twice now and have not been disappointed. I had the fish and chips and it was excellent value. There is a good choice of veggie on this deal too. As a Scot waiting for a train home, this is just the place to visit. Great value with an excellent choice of real ales. It is so handy for the rail station - cross over at the taxi rank and there is a set of steps that takes you within 50 yards. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is also so good. Bare wooden floors and a large old fashioned bar area. Being so close to the station you can wait until just a few minutes before your train departs. And there is free wifi which is why I am doing this review before I go for my train. Don't miss The Scarbrough.
