I've mentioned before that it seems impossible to get any of the cheap deals for these budget hotels and I ended up paying £71 for a Saturday night and with food including breakfast this probably amounted to £100 for a one night stay.
However of all the 'budget' hotels I've ever stayed in this was by far and away the best. Big modern room with air-con which was very welcome as the weekend was extremely hot. Also despite there being numerous families and hen parties the hotel was very quiet and peaceful.
Food in the restaurant was tasty although the portions were rather small and squeezed on tiny rectangular plates presumably to appear bigger. Breakfast on the other hand was very very good and a buffet affair with plenty of choice.
Rooms were very good and the AC welcome. There would not be enough towels for two people but easily rectified and the bed despite being two singles bolted together with different height mattresses was reasonably comfortable. It might have been down to the AC but the condensation in the bathroom was horrendous within minutes of turning on the shower.
That said a very pleasant stay and Premier Inn are certainly the leader out of the 'budget' hotels.More
