“pleasantly surprised”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

This is my new local and I have visited 3 times over the last month, to eat and just for drinks. On both occasions I have eaten the food has been good, well presented and tasty. On one occasion the bar man disappeared and left the only waitress to serve behind the bar which meant we couldn't get a dessert or our table cleared. So I think its a bit of pot luck if you get good service and a nice meal or a bit of a farce. I must mention though that the waitress is super lovely and works her butt off.

“You should change the pub name to The Drunken Monkey!!!”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

Or change your bar managers name!
on numerous occasions we visit the Fox and Grapes either for afternoon drinks or evening meals and on many an occasion we have seen your bar manager Rick freely helping himself to the pubs wine stock and swigging down the odd glass or two whilst working. On one occasion we went and he could hardly speak never mind serve us, he slurred to us to sit down and the waiter would be over, our friends wanted to call the manager but it turned out there was no manager and he was in charge. We got his name as the waiters were asking him for drinks, we sat and watched the car crash as he then proceeded to pour some drinks and drop them resulting in glasses smashed. Very POOR staff and Very POOR standards. AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGE

“Will not go back”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

We decided to give this another try since told that under new management. So we went mid week for lunch- since this would be a safe bet!!! not so!!!we waited for 45 minutes for our starter and only got that after my husband started to complain to the waiter. The food was basic and not well cooked. Whilst sitting their we noticed soe food going back to the kitchens either for re cooking or it was wrong. The service was poor and only 1 waiter realised that we where becoming rather fed up. Other people coming into the Inn where leaving since not willing to wait so long for a meal- but at least they had that option which we did not since had ordered. I feel that they need to get new kitchen staff and also new waiters. The manager did come and give us a drink on the house but unless thay get control on the service, food delivery and quality it will go down the pan like it did with the old management- reputation is so important for pubs in the pressent market that I can not see this one surviving.

“Food availability.”
Reviewed April 4, 2014

On our last three visits the menu has been only partially available with excuses about "not being ordered . Tuesday this week Spice night ,a regular offer had been switched to Wednesday because they had forgotten to defrost the curries ,yet the board advertising it was still on display outside.Looks like very poor management .
