“Once again excellent food”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

After trying several curry houses large and small the Bengal is by far the best we have been going for 4 years and still yet to find a better one we have told lots of ppl about this curry house and ALL have gone and enjoyed time and time again. If we ever have a problem it will be told to the manager who sorts this but after all these years and times going we can not fault this amazing place! Service brill, food brill, staff out of this world :) thank you for been such a great place see u in a week! Sarah and john

“Bengal Brasserie is a great restaurant with quality food and an atmosphere that is always friendly and warm!”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Although it's not in the heart of the city, I have always found this restaurant full of customers enjoying a great meal out. I have been eating here for many years now and have never found a reason to complain. Everyone is friendly, always attentive to our needs and the service is excellent! Recently I took my young daughter there for her first experience in an Indian restaurant. She was treated so well and enjoyed her food that she asked to go again! What makes this place so great is the way you are treated like family. And of course the food is excellent !!!

“THIS IS NOT INDIAN FOOD”
Reviewed March 9, 2013 via mobile

How has this place managed to get into the top 31 restaurants in leeds?

How has it managed to amass 4.5 stars out of 5 on trip advisor?

What is wrong with all you people who've given it good reviews??

The food isn't authentic, it's tasteless. The service is slow and the prices a shocking £10 more than you would be paying in a proper curry house, if there's just 2 of you eating.
We were told by a friend (his opinion is no longer valued!) that Bengal was really good. As we live just 5 mins walk away we thought we should give it a try, so we did last night. My tikka masala was an orange yellow colour and tasted more like a korma. My girlfriend ordered a bhuna, which tasted like burnt garlic and nothing else. The garlic naan however, didnt taste of anything.

If you are looking for good value and great taste and service, go to Akmals in Hyde park. If you want something authentic, Mumtaz on Clarence Dock. DO NOT GO TO BENGALS, UNLESS YOU ARE THE TYPICAL ENGLISH TYPE THAT IS FRIGHTENED OF EATING A REAL CURRY.

PS. We didn't see a single Indian eating in here last night, and that's always a bad sign.

“A regular curry haunt of mine”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

Bengal Brasserie is amazing for it's service and friendly staff, they never seem to forget a face. Life has been made better since they started their delivery service! Dangerous. Great curry, just what you want and expect from a curry in my opinion. Good typical curries as well as some nice specialties - my favourite is the Tikka Korai or Chom Chom. always busy and full of atmosphere. I've been here on dates, with parents and in large parties of 15 or so. Never been let down! Cheers Bengal

“Yummy, but concerningly low rating on food safety”
Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

This used to be my favourite Indian restraunt. But recently I checked the food standards agency and it only scours a 2 so now I am looking for a new takeaway and restraunt. Shame as the food and service always seemed good
