Rooms are comfortable and clean although not particularly roomy. Nice toiletries and comfy bed. The staff are great and very friendly. What I particularly liked was the great quality of the food (surprisingly generous portions too) and the stable bar with great real ales, knowledgable bar staff and a real pub feel. Down sides were not dramatic but would have earned 5 stars: having to use a minibus to get to the gym/pool shared facility 2 miles away and lack of relaxing/quiet lounge seating areas - most floor space is sectioned off for large party dining and conferencing (there are cosy eating areas though). Overall a very comfortable stay but not a pure hotel experience. Perfect if you are there for a conference though, and unlikely that you will go hungry! Great selections of conference area snacks and coffee / speciality teas and infusions.

Room Tip: Facing the inner courtyard will be vulnerable to the Stable bar patrons especially in the summer whe...

I recently attended Burns Night and it was fabulous. The parading of the Haggis, the delicious Cranachan, brilliant folk band, the atmosphere was really warming and the staff were lovely. Amazing hotel, amazing staff, looking forward to the next event.

Spent 2 nights here which were due to work requirements. Overall is a nice hotel in lovely grounds. Clean and bright with a good balance of modern and traditional. Food was good at the pub and the brasserie. The real plus was the staff. One or two problems occurred, small room so we were upgraded FOC, a difficult customer eating alongside us so we got free desserts and coffee without asking. Staff throughout the hotel were excellent from the pub to breakfast and reception.

If the hotel falls down on anything is that as a conference hotel a lot of customers are there not because they've chosen to stay there but because they are there for a meeting / conference. The point being that little things creep in such as, not putting enough pillows, towels, tea / coffee etc. in the rooms to start off. Maybe the conference customer is a little less demanding as their employers are paying as opposed to the punter who is paying themselves and may be more demanding therefore? Some rooms are small, and possibly overpriced. We were moved / upgraded when we asked at no extra cost though!.

Food was excellent, particularly breakfast, and the conference facilities are first class

Room Tip: Rooms vary, tell them before hand what you want (don't want) and check your room before you unpa...

We visited this hotel today after visiting my Mum in hospital and feeling a little down in the mouth and it was also our wedding anniversary so we felt we deserved a treat and that is exactly what we got. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious and there were plenty of them, well worth the money. The service and the calming atmosphere was just what we needed.

Spent a couple of days there for a conference with my company.

Rooms were great, clean, tidy and very spacious. Staff were very helpful and good fun.

The conference facilities were adequate although there seemed to be people just floating about in our breakout areas.

Food was not the best but pretty good banquet style catering.

One little downside was the parking didn't seem quite adequate. I had to leave my car almost abandoned on a service road

I only stayed one night but the room was excellent and very spacious. The bed was excellent and really comfortable.
The whole hotel, including the room and bathrom was immaculately clean and fresh-looking.
The dinner was of the highest quality and really well presented.
The breakfast was a hot and cold buffet, which was really nice and there was plenty of choice.
Apparently though it doesn't have a gym or that type of leisure facilities.
I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone though.

Booked for New Year's Eve party package plus extra night on 30th December. Staff were extremely pleasant, welcoming and helpful. We had a superior room and well worth that little bit of extra money. The room and all areas of the hotel were clean, warm and welcoming. New Year's Eve party was an excellent night, champagne reception, excellent 3 course meal and good entertainment for a mixed aged party. Our whole weekend was very enjoyable and worth the money. Oh and shopping in Leeds is excellent

Room Tip: Superior room worth the extra
