I've been visiting Leeds on business for a number of years and also try and book into Weetwood Hall. Nice hotel with a good bar, friendly staff and good accomadations and rooms.
Never had a sleepless night there.

Ideally located for the Headingly Campus of Leeds Met University this hotel offered great value. The façade, grounds and first impressions are all positive but beyond this in the rooms and the dining areas it is nothing more than average.

We had ground floor rooms, close to reception. They were on the small side but given the rate we had we didn't complain. The bathrooms were almost as big as the bedroom and well fitted. Overall it was comfortable and very good as a base.

Service was the highlight. The chap behind the bar was really helpful as where the reception team.

Breakfast was again nothing special with average ingredients across the wide range of choice. It is essentially a corporate hotel - don't be deceived by the grand looking images.

We needed an overnight stay at fairly short notice on our way further north. Finding a hotel where dogs were welcome was proving difficult until I chanced upon this hotel's website. We arrived in early evening and wanted dinner. There were two wedding parties in progress but .meals were still being served in the Brasserie where we had a delightful dinner and no disturbance from the weddings. Our retrievers were well behaved and slept on their own mats in our room. There is a small additional charge for the dogs. Breakfast was entirely satisfactory and we have no complaints, only praise, for the staff, the room, the meals and the general ambience of the hotel.

I have attended several corporate/training events at Weetwood hall and it's in a very pleasant, rurallish location with the downside that it's out of town so if you wish to 'escape' you can't very easily. Rooms are fine, training rooms facilities are very good and food is of a reasonably decent quality - not fine dining but better than average large scale catering.

Room well appointed. Some problems regarding the restaurant not being open due to a wedding taking place in the hotel!! Would have liked to have known that in advance. Still, excellent Italian restaurant just a short drive down the road. See "Salvos".

Thank you for your review.

I am pleased to hear that you found your newly refurbished bedroom well appointed. On the occasion we have a wedding taking place in our Woodlands Suite, we relocate our restaurant from the Brasserie to an alternative room in order to provide our guests with a comfortable and relaxing environment to dine in. We do also have the Stables pub available for a more informal dining experience.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon,

This is a nice hotel and for £70 a night offers neither 5* pampering nor basic caravaning accommodation. Room was nicely appointed if not a bit small if there had been 2 people staying in it. Bathroom modern and spotless. Nice extra touches were added such as proper toiletries rather than the body wash dispensers some (often more expensive) hotels are favouring. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

My main problem though was the lack of double glazing. My bedroom faced (or sounded like it faced) the nearby busy main road. This lead to difficulty sleeping due to constant traffic noise throughout the night. If i had realised before going to bed how bad it was I would have asked to move rooms. Not many other reviewers have commented on this from what I have read so it may just be that part of the hotel affected.

I chose this as a base for a two night stay for my sons Hockey sessions at the Weetwood playing fields. Plenty of free parking. Lovely hotel, clean and well decorated and maintained.
Our original room was very noisy, (dual carriage way was right outside, think this was the room nearest the road) so I requested a room change and as the hotel was quiet we were moved to a room on the furthest side from road therefore much better. The bed was sooo comfy..... Nice bathroom too.
There are three places to eat, woodlands restaurant were breakfast was served, a nice big airy room.
The breakfast buffet was good, large selection of fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast, croissant and a large hot selection bacon, sausage, mushrooms, scrambled and fried eggs, fried bread, black pudding yum and beans maybe more my plate was full by this point :) lovely fresh coffee.
The Stables pub, an on site pub with a courtyard to sit out at picnic type bench tables, very pleasant we had our first evening meal outside here, spinach and ricotta tortellini and burger n chips both very nice, followed by sticky toffee pudding with a lovely little jug of custard!!
The other eatery we used on our second evening was The Brasserie which was decorated with a much more modern feel, very nice menu, we chose sea bass fillet with spinach and tasty potato circular creation, with Hollandaise sauce and Japanese style haddock with chips, salad and chilli sauce, followed by crepe suzette and apple crumble pie and ice cream.
I also had sandwich and coffee at the stables and afternoon tea in the brasserie which I had served outside the front of the hotel as there are more benches and it was a lovely sunny quiet spot to be.
The food prices I found to be very reasonable for a hotel which was nice surprise. The staff here at Weetwood Hall were all very pleasant, most helpful and always had a smile whilst we were on site.
It was close by for a trip to Harewood House and The White Rose shopping centre on this occasion. I was recommended this hotel by a friend who had come to a conference here, they appear to be be very busy with this side of the business.
My son was pleased to have free wi-fi access and there is complimentary pass for the use of a swimming pool, spa, fitness centre etc two miles away if you ask at reception.
I will certainly use this hotel again in the future.
