This hotel is about 10 minutes walk from main town centre. Reception friendly however had a few problems finding our booking. Car park is chargable. Room was modern but beds not comfortable. Windows only open a fraction which isnt helpful on a warm evening. Tends to attract a noisey clientele. Clean rooms and decent bathroom with seperate toilet. Lot of people hanging round front of steps smoking cigerettes - makes hotel look scruffy!

Would prefer not to revisit that particular hotel and would go for something more central.

I stayed at the Novotel Hotel in Leeds while on business with a couple of my employees and thought the hotel ticked all the boxes.
The location is ideal for business or leisure as it is central to the city and close to the railway station. The hotel is modern and is certainly of a standard you would expect of the Novotel chain. The lobby is spacious and the reception staff are well mannered. The bedrooms are fantastic, seperate w.c from the shower room and a comfy two seater sofa to relax on while watching the television. The main criteria when i stay anywhere is how clean the bedroom is and i was more than happy.
The breakfast is £15.50 for the full English but believe me you will not be disappointed. The waiter was also very polite.
I would certainly reccomend this hotel to any of my friends or business partners. My two colleagues and my personnal assistant also found the hotel satisfactory.I would stay again without hesitation.

I had stayed at the hotel a few times before and found it to offer above average accommodation for the price in this area. It is a modern hotel and as part of a large chain doesn't offer much by way of charm but it does look good and offer very easy access to Leeds city centre.

On this trip it fell rather short of my expectations.

During previous visits I had noticed that there was a large open-air car park next to the hotel and that the road outside wasn't well made. This it now appears is because the Whitequay area in which it is situated is still under development, and the open-air car park is now being converted into residential apartments. A fact that was brought home to me by the construction noise that woke me at 07:30. Now, I know that hotels can't pick themselves up and relocate for the duration of any local building work but I did ask for a quiet room, both at the time of booking and when I checked in and on neither occasion was I advised about the building works. So when I was so rudely and prematurely awakened, I swore not to return until the local redevelopment work has been completed.

On a different note, I ordered a room service breakfast in the morning, so that I could work and eat at the same time. As a seasoned traveler I'm aware that ordering room service is unlikely to be cheap but can represent good value if the food is good and orders are delivered swiftly and accurately. Sadly in this case none of the above were present and complaints to both the kitchen and reception staff were met with unsympathetic apologies rather than any conclusive action. I was unable to eat most of my breakfast, before having to depart.

In summary, this smart, modern hotel would be a good base for business travelers visiting Leeds, if it were not for the unwelcome early morning wake-up call of construction noise and indifferent service. Given that the reception staff were unable to advise me as to when the development was due to be completed, my advice would be to give it a wide berth for a few years.

The Novotel Leeds is in a quiet business area of the City, although new buildings are due to go up opposite. The hotel is almost next to the railway station and is close to the restaurants and night clubs in Leed's West End. There is car park under the hotel. The reception staff are very friendly, the rooms are quiet, clean and well-furnished, and there is reasonable sound-proofing. Breakfasts are a well-stocked buffet but are pricy. However, there is a co-op shop opposite the entrance, which serves fresh coffee and croissants from early hours, seven days/week.

Stayed in this hotel for a Saturday night a few weeks ago. Compared to other Novotels this is slightly outdated however the room was great for a one night stay. The location is just beside the railway station and great for nights out in Leeds.

I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

I would be a bit hesitant to stay when the weather was really warm as the windows only open 3 inches and the air con is really a heater and not blowing cold air.

Having seen an internet offer of £59 double room only we rang up to enquire about a triple room and were quoted £110 including breakfast. I actually think this rate was good but did mean that the sofa became two single beds so we were a tad squashed!

POSITIVES: Great location. £2.90 taxi from the train station, and only 5 mins walk away. Beds were very comfy - we all had an excellent nights sleep. Also think the rooms are well sound proofed because there were lots of hen and stag parties at the hotel but we didn't hear any excess noise from people getting ready for nights out, returning later or getting up in the morning. They have those really thick curtains which also helped us sleep well - couldn't believe it when the alarm went off at 9.15am - it was so lovely and dark in the room! Lighting over the bathroom and a long mirror was excellent for 3 girlies doing their make-up!

NEGATIVES: Room was only superficially clean. There were several long hairs in the bath and sink area and also in the drawers. There were biscuit crumbs on the surface and the floor didn't look like it had been hoovered thoroughly. Also as other posters have stated it was extremely hot in the room. The window barely opened so it was difficult to cool down. Having said that it didn't stop us sleeping but it was uncomfortable when getting ready.

GENERAL: Breakfast was nice enough!

Stayed in this hotel for three nights last week for work and was really impressed. All the staff were really friendly and helpful which is always a bonus as it seems rare these days! Nice relaxed bar
(didn't eat in the restaurant but the menu was impressive). Room was lovely, large bed, fridge, nice fluffly towels, speakers in the bathroom, big bath with plenty of room for your glass of wine! All the things a girl needs after a stressful day! Breakfast was a little
overpriced but that would be my only complaint. Room was nice and quiet, I was overlooking the entrance and there was hardly any outside noise. All in all a really good hotel I would definitley recommend!
