“Nicely kept but what a noise i'm afraid”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014

We stayed here for a one night stop over on a Saturday night and i'm really pleased it wasnt a 2 night stay.

We were in room 2 which was juyst above the bar and the lady who checked us in said the bar was open until 1 and therefore we were warned. 1 is fine. we were happy.

We went to a concert at the O2 around the corner, had a few drinks and then came back. The bar was quiet and we went upstairs to bed. The noise from the nearby club banged on until 4am. It was just too loud. We didn't get any sleep. Then at 4.30am, some lads decided to start to play football, basketball in the back alley for an hour. Shouting , screaming, laughing. It was a bit of a nightmnare. I went downstairs but the hotel/pub was closed and nobody was around.

At 8am, we packed up and headed off but when we went downstairs, there was still nobody about and we had to leave tghrough the fire escape.

The room itself was nice and clean but if you stay here, please take your ear-plugs !

Ok location to north of city. I arrived late, couple of lowly drinkers in the pub downstairs and. It much atmosphere but bar looked well stocked if you had a drinking partner, no shortage of places to drink in Leeds though so wouldn't go there for that.

Room plain and a bit dated but comfortable and this place is one of the cheaper places in Leeds.

Just ok.

Excellent location - perfect place to end a real ale pub crawl. Lovely room- compared to your chain hotel blandness. Very comfy and great shower.
Yes- it is noisy outside in the early hours so not the place for a quiet early night - but that is obvious when you see the location.

Would definitely stay again if I wanted a great location at a great price.

Had a few beers in bar before going out and that was very nice- a good atmosphere and jenga.

Visiting the univercity, myself and my pa booked in for one night at the Wren. On first arrival we were impressed with the location, and felt right at home when a lovely man at the bar advised us on parking and general Leeds antics. I got a massive room right on the corner of the hotel, overlooking the streets of Leeds. It really was impressive. The toliet was fine. My dad told me the shower was very good, I decided on the bath, snug fit as I'm a lanky old ting! The lighting was a little dim in the room however the two huge bay windows sorted me right out!! My sleep was a little interuped, no biggy. It was comforting to know the city had a good nightlife (potenital student speaking). The main culprits who compromised my precious sleep were a very noisy couple above and it invloved a headbored. Something I giggled about in the morning. Don't advise if your a boring fart.

ps - If you get room 4, you'll do well to shut the curtains before undressing, the doubledecker buses were the prefect level to my room!

Room Tip: room 4 is nosy at night.

Great location for the arena and if you plan to party all night this would be a great hotel. However if you would actually like to get some sleep try somewhere else. Rooms dull and dated, wouldn't go back

We needed to be close to 'the city varieties old music hall' in Leeds and this was the closest
we could get. We were pleasantly surprised with this cosy, clean and comfortable hotel, with just a few rooms above a pub, which served homemade cakes and tea after 11 am!! Just a few minutes away from the main shopping centre and within walking distance of the central bus and train station, the Wren provided us with everything that made our trip all the more enjoyable.
