First visit for many years proved to be an excellent choice. We arrived at 1730 on Wednesday night to find the restaurant nearly full, but no kids running wild as in other review. Choice of beer (Leeds Pale) was good at decent price. We were warned that it would be a minimum of 30/40 minutes before food would be served due the evening rush, but this was no problem as we had comfortable seating in a cosy corner. Starters and mains were excellent value and the ribs were the best tasted in a long time. With four starters and four mains the bill was £40.00, which we all agreed was excellent value
Our next visit will be sooner rather than later...

A nice place, nice food at a good price, it is a local place and is a good place for a family meal. The new sizzling pub that allow's children to come makes it a nicer place to be.

This pub used to be an ember inn which was ok but has now been lowered to a sizzling and kids are now allowed in, but only if they run around screaming loudly at each other as we discovered on a recent visit! The food is typical sizzling chain, cheapish and bearable if you are hungry enough. My biggest disappointment with the Stone Trough is they still can't serve a decent pint of real ale. It always has that bit mouldy taste usually associated with unclean pipes. As this is one of my locals I do wish they would address this problem. On the plus side we had no trouble getting served and the food came in a reasonable time.

I went with a friend on friday 18th may. We had a huge choice of food very reasonable prices and comfortable surroundings. We ordered wings and cheese and red pepper parcels for starter. Perfect sized portions and very, very tasty. We were able to order smaller or larger portions of the main course which was very convenient. The staff were very friendly and approachable. Well done

Cheap and great food. Really impressed with everything. We did wait 40 minutes for food but we were told this before we ordered. And it was well worth the wait. The staff gave us vouchers for the next time we visit. Also try the big ice cream sundae it's massive.
