Visited today....fantastic museum lots to see really good value ..Victorian street had to be smelled to be believed.Friendly helpful staff. On the day we visited the Cafe was closed but a room upstairs had an area for refeshments set up.We thought that £1.80 for a teabag in paper cup was a bit steep..... cakes were still all wrapped in paper and bags as they had just come out of the freezer. I realise that the main aim was to visit the museum and not rate the cafe however I review the whole experience .So to sum up...museum cracking value and very interesing......catering not so good....but to be fair you don't go to a museum for the catering do you...

We spent over three hours in the museum fascinated by the way it presented the evolution of medicine and the prevention and cure of diseases. I would have awarded 5* but one or two of the displays were a little tired at best, broken at worst. The majority were great and those that weren't still didn't detract from the loads of information.
Ironically, for a very hands-on museum extolling the importance of cleanliness there was an absence of hand cleansing gel dispensers which I would have expected to see in every gallery. If they were there then they should be more prominent. I felt quite grubby after touching so much after so many others. All in all though, highly recommended, especially for children. ... but take your own hand gel.

This is a really interesting place! Once you pay for entry you can go back within a year free!! It took nearly 3 hours to go through the whole lot but it was a really enjoyable day! Would recommend!

Lots of interesting displays, if you pay once you get a free pass for a year, which is worth it if you live nearby but maybe not so much for tourists. Has some good education exhibits, really enjoyed.

A great museum for medical & non medical people alike . The building itself has a story to tell ... Firstly as a work house then it became a military hospital during the war !
You can follow the lives of people that actually had treatment there ... Including medical notes !
You can also see & SMELL the slums of Leeds . Pay a visit .. U won't be disappointed .
