The educational value is considerable, but exhibitions look a bit tired. Definitely NOT for younger children. Cafe's alright though.

Took my daughters here but was suprised at how pricey it was. The special effects and information is good but not worth the price to get in and I would not go again.
Plenty of parking space but for what it is can think of better value for money ways to entertain and educate.

The Thackray museum is about 2 miles from the town centre next door to St James Hospital. It is built in the old workhouse and tells the story of Leeds and medical science from the early 17th Century to the present day. The trip starts with a "smelly" reconstruction of industrial leeds in the early 1800's where filth and poverty gave rise to sickness and death in the working poor. All the exhibits are well presented and there is lots of interactive exhibits for the kids. A great and eye opening glimpse into the "good old days" which makes you think "thank goodness for the NHS"

It was an extremely educational visit and told the story of medicine. The ticket allows you to visit as many times as you want in a year making it good value for money if you live close by. The interactive elements were well thought out and amused me and my friends. Our favourite part was trying on the pregnancy suit and laughing at each other with it on.

The museum has lots of information on their medical history.
I am impressed with the people who could find a cure to some diseases and avoided an outbreak.
Children who go there can also role-play and have some interactive games to play with.
The entry ticket entitles you to multiple entries for the whole year.
Just love it!
