Kirkstall Abbey is an hidden gem and well worth a visit, while visiting try out the coffee shop on the opposite side of the road. Many events take place throughout the year and its best to check whats on before going. We often visit the Abbey while doing a whistlestop tour of the area, Horsforth, Farsley and Rodley are all a short drive away and worth taking a look at.

A walk around for 30 mins and aside from that there isn't much to do! Shame really as it could be made into a day activity if building other attractions near by...

Took 1.15 hour for easy walk along canal from Leeds CBD to the Abbey. Was a nice walk and the Abbey was interesting to look at. Lovely green grounds and the abbey ruins can walk around.

Unfortunately we arrived a bit late to enjoy all that was on offer.
Oh Dear Henry you caused a lot of damage ! What a wonderful Abbey this must have been and God knows how they built it - magnificent. Still able to sample the atmosphere and let the imagination do its work. Nice shop with helpful staff. Too late to visit the museum but did manage a glimpse in to decide to re-visit next year. Well worth a visit......probaly when it's warmer !

What a wonderful place. From the Victorian street with it's old shops, to the Abbey's own collection of artifacts. An entertaing tie is to be had by young children to old gimmers like myself. You can always find something new to see. Things you will have missed on other occasions. My wife and me love the place and the gardens which are always pristine are a joy to behold.
Love it.
