We stayed at the Malmaison a Leeds on a bargain friday night offfer deal of £99 for 2 plus meal for 2 and a bottle of wine. The hotel was excellent , rooms very well furnished with flat screen Tv's & a dvd player.

The food was superb througout , though we just ate from the set price menu the starter of crayfish was fabulous , it was light and full of flavour with fresh tomatoes that tasted as though they had been jsut been picked from the fields of Tuscany that morning, wow briliant !!!
The service and staff were excellent. the only aspect i can criticise was the breakfast and this really could do with an overhaul £12.95 for backon , sausage etc that lacked any "provenance" whatsoever is really not good enough. So 8/10 only....as to value for money well if you get the "eats, sleeps and drinks" weekend promotion then this is 10/10 value for money

Come on guys do something about your breakfasts !!

Impressive hotel. Very friendly check-in, was made to feel welcome from the start. I was a guest at a conference, and the hotel staff were very helpful with our requirements. We all had drinks in the bar and an excellent meal, although the private dining area was rather cramped. The chef was happy to add special requests to what was presumably a pre-booked menu. There was a plate clearing station just beside our dining area, which was left for quite some time to smell, which was a little off-putting. Breakfast on both days was excellent. The rooms were very special, with very high ceilings and full-height windows. The overall colour scheme was quite dark throughout, which I guess won't suit everyone but I liked it. It was also only a short walk from Leeds railway station. A nice touch was offering croissants while waiting to check-out.

We did the Sunday supplement deal, where if you spend £75 on food and drink you can stay for a tenner, we upgraded the room for another £10 and were not disappointed. It was a large, light room, with floor to ceiling windows. The bathroom had a bath big enough for 2 and a seperate shower. There was a well stocked mini bar and room service was quick.
Downside to the room, they had forgotten our bath robes and the coffee, you need a degree to work out what to do with it and after all the faffing it wasn't that nice.
The food in the restaurant was good, the menu was not too varied though, for example there was no chicken dish. The service was good and the cocktails were excellent.
One bad thing was the breakfast in bed, it consisted of one pastry, corn flakes, salty yoghurt and some fruit, there was no warnings about allegeries and you had to make your own tea and coffee, like I said the coffee was hard work, would never manage with a hang over!

Stayed at the Malmaison in Leeds for two nights. Hotel easily located from M621 and good reasonably priced car parking nearby. The location of the hotel is superb all within minutes of the shops and nightlife. Staff were incredibly helpful and polite and did everything possible to accommodate any requests made. Breakfast was really lovely and plenty of choice, all beautifully presented. Bedrooms were luxurious and comfortable and the lift was extremely quick and efficient. All in all, would certainly recommend and will definitely be looking to stay at other Malmaison Hotels in the future.

We stayed for a warm weekend in July. We know the Birmingham Malmaison well and thought this may be the same, but it's in a historic building with small windows and a dark and dingey bar and restaurant, not ideal for a summer's evening.

The first room we were given was really dark overlooking a staircase at the back and I couldn't get an orange phone signal there, so managed to get moved to a brighter room at the front with two windows and a signal. It was fine except the bed seemed quite old and dipped in the middle and was uncomfortable.

We ate in the restaurant, which I mentioned is dark. The food was good, service mostly ok, except they took my tapenade away and then said they had no more when I asked for it back. The 10% service charge added to the bill for our party of four irritated my husband, so when he rounded it down by a pound we were immediately given a comment card to see what was wrong. We are quite able to work out a !0% ish service charge thank you very much.

The staff were lovely, but if we go to Leeds in the future to visit our daughter, we will probably go back to the City Inn, which is so light, trendy, spacious and cheap!

Easy walking distance from train station, car park nearby and near main shopping area. Warm and friendly greeting, this was a wedding anniversary treat and our room was large with robes, complimentary water, rose petals on the bed, chocolates and a card - extras that we were not expecting. Dinner was included in our room offer,it was very busy and we had a long wait. If we had been kept informed we would not have been so disappointed. Starter of pate good but the steak was tough even though it was medium rare. Excellent cheeseboard selection and staff very helpful in assisting with the choice. We slept well, the room location was quiet and the quality of bed linen, duvets and pillows excellent. When checking out we mentioned the disappointing dinner and were offered complimentary breakfast which was well cooked. This was our first experience of Malmaison Hotels and we will returrn, good value, friendly staff and quality accommodation.

The hotel was booked on a recommendation from a relative and was ideally located to gain access to leeds city centre. We parked at Q Parking for which the hotel has a discount arrangement, this being 1 minute walk from hotel. Upon arrival, check in was very quick and professional and we had a pleasant chat, the receptionist booking a place at a restaurant, that we were unable to book ourself ... so we were pleased about that also.

We went to our room which was lovely and spacious and had a warming and personal touch, with an anniversary card and complimentary bottle of wine for our celebration. Even with passing traffic outside, the sound that could be heard was very low and okay.

The bar and brasserie were nice and cosy and a great deal of effort had been taken with the furnishings and decorations to give a boutique hotel feel. The roads nearby had a collection of other eating establishments and bars, which we tried with success, all this being very relaxed and stress free.

In the morning, we went down to breakfast and were served promptly and with a smile, nothing being too much. The breakfast itself was very good quality with a reasonable selection, the main portion being served to diners, with plentiful portions. We then went for an hours walk near the river and dock area and checked out before noon.

We are critical no matter where we stay and would rate the malmaison very highly and cannot wait for an opportunity to visist leeds again and stay here again. Every member of staff were very helpful and smiling and must be rated 10 out of 10. On the negative front, we have nothing but praise, which is why we felt motivated to write this review. I cannot imagine anyone not liking the hotel ... a great overall effort to provide everyone with a nice place to stay.
